The Stepford Children, I think. I haven't seen it, but was driven to research it after seeing the brilliantly disturbing original Stepford Wives.
Unless it was Return of the Stepford Wives that was #2 -- I'm a little hazy.

But yeah, with one (or both) of them, not only are the main characters all different, they're not even replacing the women with robots. No, it's all done with drugs and behavioral conditioning. Which is sort of, like, missing the point of constructing a metaphor to begin with. No, sorry, I'm wrong -- it's missing the whole damn point of the movie.

This is in contrast to some of the various zombie movies mentioned upthread, where the main character is basically a faceless, voracious zombie horde. Which does appear in all the sequels. |
