Whoopsy. Okay, to clarify, we put criticism in the comments field in others' blogs, this thread is for administration. Also evil, but mainly administration.

Hello all. I'm just clocking in to apologise for my lateness. It's all faaaar too boring to explain, but basically Life (work, favours, animal/babysitting) has dealt me a busy hand lately so my story (and feedback, etc) won't be up till the weekend -- sorry, I haven't even had a chance to glance at your wonderful words. It's partly my fault as I threw an artistic wobbly and binned my last attempt, but in the little time I've had this week, so far I've hand-written half a new story which should be finished and typed up by Sunday (Life willing!).

Darth Phex, I hope that's OK (*p.w cowers like a dirty dawg*)..... If things get any worse on my part, I promise I'll quit soon and stop messing y'all around. Again, sorry.

Off to feed my friend's mighty, mighty cat.

May the force be with us!

(Oh, and welcome, hapax legomenon!)

Since my last post, my life has gone from bad to worse so I'm afraid I'm going to have to pull out of pop.11.

Hope that's OK. Once things start to improve, however, I'll certainly be sure to check out your work when I get the chance.

Good luck and best wishes.

Salutations PW.
I hope it snrut around for you.

The group hasn't been doing much critquing has it?
I've been really impressed by all of your stories and will try and comment on some Sunday (maybe).

POP11 Assemble.
To me my POP11 cohorts.

Good luck with everything, PW. I hope things get sorted out for you, and that you can make a triumphal return at some point in the near future.

Yeah, critiquing- I've got a solid, er, probably 15 hours on a Greyhound bus this weekend, so I should be able to put comments up sometime Monday.

By which I mean, I will be writing comments while on the bus. If it wasn't clear.

Yep, I'll try and get some opinions on people's pages by tomorrow if possible.

See ya PW. Come back when things clear up.

Thanks for the welcome. I'll sit out this round, but I'm in for the next.

Okey dokey, I've published my completed piece now, and commented on everybody else's.

Various Real Life circumstances (death of relative and accompanying funeral, preparations for leaving the country next week) are going to render my zombie piece extremely late. I'll try and get it up by the end of this week, but no guarantees.

autran
20:26 / 21.08.05
So, if we blog our zombie stories can we still submit them to Zombie Aid? Their site says this:

"Graveyard Shift Publishing obtains nonexclusive One-Time Electronic (World Wide Web) Publishing Rights to works it publishes. The right to reprint material published in ZOMBIE AID reverts to the author or artist immediately after the work is published"

Which I don't quite understand. Help, please? If only we had a benevolent dictatorial overlord to tell us what to do.....

My zombie piece is going to be a little late. What with chest infections and holidays I've had no techs in the lab so have been run a little ragged. Hopefully it will be in by Sunday.

Many apologies.

Clear! *bump*

Is anybody else still doing this or shall we call time of death?

I quite liked the idea and application of this thread as a writer's group.
Unfortunately as of recent times I've been overloaded with work. Resultantly I haven't been brain alive enough to write or even read much. I'm quite happy to continue on within the group but if we could set back the topic headline to a month or so and possibly have more open ended topics. Either or I'm happy to continue at whatever pace I can manage if no one takes umbrage against that.
And I will actually comment on some stories tomorrow.

The first part of my zombie piece is now blogged. I'd love to get comments on that or my merchandise piece.

Does this mean the group is back from the dead too?

Go on, write something. You know you want to.

Ancient spirits of evil, transform this decayed from, into Mum-Ra the everliving...

Okay, I'm back, having had to move from Britain to Portland, OR, and being without a computer. Now, rocking my awesome-radical new laptop, I am able to give orders and throw my weight around like a big-shot.
Now, I wasn't able to do the zombie story, much as I would have liked to, though I'll post comments on Autran's and anyone elses. Next item of business is to set a starting and finishing date for the next story, the theme and/or title of which is to be decided by Autran.

Ah, to be dobbed in by our leader honours me beyond my worth.
I put the theme up on my blog along with a proposed deadline.

Aieee.

Just a wave to say I'm still here, and I'm in the middle of moving as well. However, I'd like to have the zombie story and the picture story done by autran's due date. So..uh..hold me to that. We'll see how I do.

14:26 / 04.09.05
I've finally commented on all the pieces, I haven't written anything exhaustive about each or anything and it's all very much personal opinion.
Also have been thinking about my zombie piece and have an idea to continue it. It may be up by the by depending on how it translates to the page.

I was (and in some ways still am) kind of confused about where we are in terms of a timeframe for this whole thing. I was away for two weeks, and under the impression that I'd be missing the second story. But apparently people have been very late on the submissions... or has the deadline been extended? Regardless, not only am I very busy, but I'm not very good at all with zombies or horror or any of that sort of stuff in the least, so I think I'm going to have to sit out story number two. With autran's distant deadline, however, I think I'll be able to find time in my ever more hectic schedule to squeeze something out. I feel guilty I haven't had the chance to comment on anyone else's stories yet (especially with the great criticism I've received on mine so far - thanks guys), so I'll most definetly find time for that as well.

I realise I'm a Barbelith tyro, but I'm in dire need of having a reason and a deadline to regurgitate something pomo and literary. Does anyone mind terribly if I join?

Welcome aboard!

I could make it literary and porno if you'd like. However, given the photograph that the latest story should be inspired by (a cat. Cider. Potatoes), I imagine the story would only curry favour with kitty fuckers and tuber fetishists.

But then again, it's art, right?

I think I might give this story a miss and hit up the next one anyway, considering I'm two weeks late. I'd rather have more time to ruminate.

Hello there Uncouth,
How would you like to read and comment on the stories already written? That might be a good introduction.
Just a thought.....

I also should apologise for flakiness especially as I've really enjoyed all of your pieces so much. (although this will be my last apology as I'm very procrastinatory and constant apologising can irk). A return to college after a five year financially induced hiatus may give me the time I need to contribute properly so hopefully no further apologising will be needed.
I'll comment on either your second and third stories this week though autran, perhaps both.

I have a pop.11 account, and even better, I wrote something roughly inspired by the image of the kitty and the potatoes. It's not particularly good, but it's better than doing nothing but sitting on my delightfully firm and muscular buttocks.

pop.11: riding astride.

11:09 / 04.10.05
'K I commented on Riding Astride's piece, which is quite nifty and short if anybody else wants to take a look.

Please can folks check in by posting to this thread? Nothing seems to be happening.

Also, we need a fourth theme.

In the same vein as Double Shrug- sorry for flakiness, a combination of school starting and crossing the Atlantic (plus transition from small town to enormous city) has left me little time to write. I'll probably finish my zombie story soon and stick that up, and I'll be able to do the next topic. I'll try and comment on people's stories this time around as well.
