Ahh... you chose "those cowboys", eh? Should have gone to Dave: I've never seen anyone reverse park or pack more safely into a van than him. He's also a really honourable chap and often freakishly strong.
Seriously though, I've never heard of Adewale (there are loads of "Men With Vans" after all) and I'm sure it will be fine (but we - are - the - best). By the way, are they doing your packing for you? That seems odd, if they are. I mean, do they know this? We generally like everything (except tall lamps, furniture, kids push-bikes, sofas, etc) to be boxed or bagged up and ready for us to grab and carry. Otherwise we end up spending twice as long on the job and feel slightly guilty when after six hours instead of three, the client turns round and says: "HOW MUCH?!" Also, we don't know what should go with what in whatever box or bag and don't want to be blamed if you can't find that particular precious and valuable little ornament (not that that's happened to me, but when I've had to pack I've always felt uneasy about the possibility of being wrongly accused of theft).
Also, if by chance they happen to be a moody crew, don't sweat it. As long as you're polite, ply them with drinks, stay out of their path and don't panic them, they should have no reason to be "off" with you. Other than that, like you typed, remember YOU are the one paying them so YOU'RE the boss. Just don't go crazy with your "polished finger" and you'll be fine... I've made you feel more nervous now, haven't I? Sorry! |
