I open the door, it's still dark outside, and I mumble "Hello world, I'm awake.". So how's everyone's morning going? What do you have planned for today?

Well, first up I have to drop off a DAT machine that I borrowed yesterday, but as I have no clothes on just yet, I may read a couple more chapters of Sax's book and listen to some more music before I get up properly. Then I have the day ahead of me! Hunger is there, so eating at some point, and I have an old war film to watch from Screen Select, then later I'll be phoning Mrs The Ball and talking about everything and nothing for a couple of hours. Really, basically I have nothing to do today.

What's a Dat machine? Is it a music thing?

Benny the Ball

It's a digital tape recording machine - was using it for a reshoot day on a film I've just finished working on. But they are used for music as well - although more folk are moving over to hard drive recorders

I'm just back from two weeks in China. I'm still jet lagging a little--waking up at 4 am and feeling sleeping at about ... well most of the rest of the time. But it was tremendous. So today--laundry.

It is practically morning for me. I have been up for only an hour. Grandparents rock, let me tell you. I could stay out last night and go to an actual bar - for fun! - and partay!

Today...I'm at work. I may end up being here for 24 hours due to the fact that we haven't hired up everyone we need yet, but opened anyway.

So, I'll be doing morningshift AND lateshift while I supervise new residents (teenagers who need a place to stay) and update all the comic book crap on my website. Thank Ghods for DSL.

Hire me please! I don't know what job it is, but I'm willing to learn, and relocate!

It's a group home for teenagers who are placed here by social services or probation officers...and I don't get overtime. If you've got a degree in psych or something close...well, there's prolly a group home near you that might need you too.

It ain't ALL glory.

Whoah. Isn't this kind of late for an early shift?

Maybe we should shift back to our regularly scheduled late shift?

22:46 / 03.07.05
naa, let's mess with the early shift, that way it can evolve into a 'whenever/wherever, Barbelith is always with you thing'*...

*except, of course, when it falls over.

No. Go out and come back in.

That'll do.

It's late here, in normal social terms, being as it's 1am on a sunday night. Realise that in Late Shift terms, that's paltry though

ooh, controversy. Now MC and I will have to fight.

(friends and I earlier came up with concept of Lesbian-Feminist Fight Club. In which the fight is to prove who is the better LF/scores the most points. I have fighting on the brain atm)

Why all the frustration hit points, mate?

Weasels in a catfight? I'd never thought of that before. And that's a good thing.

Weasels? Bah. You need something sturdy in there, something that can grab and hold on, something that can defend itself and MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

I'm thinking...leemur with a box cutter. Possibly a one-armed baboon with a muzzle (those fuckers can bite like a bastard). If you want, I know a guy who can hook us up.

this morning i awoke upon the couch.
i was still fully clothed, yes.
i was all tuckered out from fighting the control of global fiscal policy by the few, you see.
well, and beer.
and, y'know, if i'm honest, that last spliff prolly wasnt necessary either.

but yeah.
i feel better having taken part in an almost futile show of strength with like minded people.
argued with them a little bit too.
its always fun when someone brings up vanguardism and starts to pitch their own particluar brand of revolutionary fervour...

LOL! Nice one, toksik. Particularly liked this little Quicktime movie:

"There are lots of men with yellow jackets on."

"Hi Mum, I've become a police officer."

Class. I'm glad I woke up today.
