The festive season has stolen my brain and broken my body. It's my first day back at work and my brain is failing to function, I'm missing words, my hands are shaking and I feel a general malaise that I cannot shake off. I really need to sort myself out.

Fucking hell my head is splitting. WHy did I drink Coopers again? WHy? Thank god for Beechams cold and flu plus.

I said something this morning which established me as not just someone who says embarrasingly cringeworthy things on occassion but as an actual acclaimed, possibly world-class, cringe-artiste. Someone please smother me.

I told a woman to think of me as an uncle.

What kind of uncle?

Very very small and sort of transparent. (Didn't even drink much last night. It's so unfair.)

I don't have a hangover now. But I have been running on adrenaline, alcohol, dope, chocolate and UK garage for days. Things are about to slow down.

It ain't gonna be pretty.

Consider this an early warning.

Can one have a curry hangover? I drank very little last night, but had a startling amount of delicious arje nhuna - or something to that effect. Fish curried in olive oil - delicious. Currently feeling like a Montgolfier autoerotic device.

Oy. I clearly should have stayed in bed this morning or something. Work is going to be very interesting today. And by 'interesting' I mean 'sucktastic'.

Like a lemon that's been squeezed by a man with very rough, calloused hands. And then stamped on and, apparently, shat in.

Just realised that last night was the first time in 10 (ten!) years that I had more than 3 drinks, which is quite bizarre.

I'm not that hungover, quite awake despite only a few hours' sleep and very chuffed that I got home alright. I didn't throw up and I even remember everything that's happened - including giving my number to someone I'm not the least bit interest in. And I've just received a text message from him. Joy.

And I've gotta drive to Portsmouth tonight and jump up and down in front of a stage for a few hours, which will be tough.

I wept.

Not just because I dropped my camera, nor because my nose was running from all the sherbert (not a euphemism chums, I genuinely snorted the sugary children's favourite) but because, when Mrs. Mick asked me why I was feeling so down I couldn't find words.

Meh, boozers are losers.

I should have been hungover on Friday, I should have been hungover on Saturday, and I should be hungover today. Why have none of these things happened? Am I doing something right, or is it all going to arrive as an enormohangover on Monday?

Oooh. I'd watch your back come Monday.

No hangover today, but that's okay because I already had two this past week. Will probably have another two this week as well.

I was mildly hungover on Friday, I was badly hungover on Saturday, and I still don't feel 100% today. Why have all of these things happened? Am I doing something wrong? With my life?

Oh. My. God.

My brain is talking in the voice of a Cyberman and what it's saying ain't pretty.

Am resisting the urge to be nauseous.

I felt proper (i.e. none of them namby pamby liberal loving shooting pains) shooting pains around my bladder/lower, lower torso this morning this morning, but then I had an amazing (really, really good) crap followed by a greasy fry-up and felt right as rain. So, now I am up in the library revising (another exam on Monday) and I was just getting sleepy so I take a pro-plus; BAM shooting pains all around my lower right side again ... I wouldn't mind the discomfort so much if in the silence of the library my stomach wasn't putting on a horribly attention drawing orchestra of unhealthy gut gurgles. I have retreated to the computer rooms where the communal keyboard tapping provides adequate cover for my moving bowels.

Not really sure what the pro-plus has done to me, but however painful this gets I’d do it (and will do it) all again for that delicious Woodford Reserve... And Gideon, if you are reading this; Yes I am 'softcore'; when it feels like my liver is trying to kill me and each gulp is on the verge of inducing nausea I generally do stop drinking.

Sometimes I like hangovers. It's like the death of some cells resets your brain somehow. For a time, you literally can't remember to be anxious about all the stuff you're supposed to be doing but haven't yet. As long as I've got some fatty salty foods handy, and some energy drinks, some DVDs and don't have to go anywhere, I'm okay.

......Oh. I have to go across town and pick up my car.

Damn car. Why can't it come on home by itself?

I haven't had a proper hangover for years.

I am trying, though.

I'd dearly love to spend tomorrow watching new episodes of lost and pope town and at 12:30 crawling out of my room to get a breakfast kebab.

No, really, I would.

Thank you all for this thread.

About once or twice a year I did drink and then had a hangover (sometimes before I went to sleep). And then I said: Never again!

Your posts trigger my memories of hangovers and make me avoid ordering just one white russian.

Alternatively, the fucking thing could start. That would be great. Or it could be parked in a position conducible to push-starting.

My head hurts.

My hangover was fucking terrible this morning. Fortunately the combination of having a dog and not having a garden is a good one in these situations- I had no choice about going out and getting some fresh air. Now I feel a tad better. I just wish I'd remembered to take some water with me before I embarked on a three-hour hike round Stokey and environs. You know how lime is really refreshing? My tongue currently feels like whatever the opposite of lime is.

I found out that one can exceed their stated overdraft last night. I welcomed crippling debt and cocktails. Then danced. Now am painfully digestive.
Why did someone introduce me to drinking reefs in 6 seconds? With a straw? And dribbling on your chin?
Oh God. Oh God.
