Ok, so far from reading about this goddess and some working towards her I don't see this 'all playful goddess' at all. She is very stern at times, very much like Bast at times. Yet playful to the point where I kind of get...I don't know......can't explain

I can see where alot of discordism writings come from, ie from my first experience when doing accounts and taxes. But she is so much more. Where the Principia Discordia is very enlightening I want to read back to orignal writings if possible about the Greeks expriences on her.

Does anyone have any links or can recommend books for this? I will be looking myself but some good reviews or links would help. I'm awaiting a copy of RAW's trilogy though, thank you for that link

Having been stuck in London all day because of the bombs I was trying to sleep but couldn't so I picked up a book 'The Illuminatus Trilogy'. Then I started thinking that today possibly wasn't the best day to reading a book in praise of discord so I put it down and logged on. Reading various threads on various forums talking about the bombings I saw loads of posts saying that people would have been caught in the blasts if they hadn't overslept or had other transport difficulties which are of course very Erisian things. So it seems that the Goddess has helped look after us.

Hail Eris
Hail Discordia

Yep. Clearly the people who did get caught in the blast just weren't discordian enough. Can I get a witness.

That's a bit harsh and not what I meant. I just realised that some people who were saved were saved by occurences which on any other day would have ruined their day.

Well, yes, because minor inconveniences happen to people on the way into London, which delay their journeys, and these things acquire a marked significance when as a result they are not somewhere where they might otherwise have been when a significant event took place. Also, people on the Internet might, in the face of something as big and scary as this, feel more connected to the circumstances than they would otherwise, and so feel more as if they were only not present at those places as a result of a strange mischance. I'm not sure why Eris would only be looking out for your mates, however, nor am I sure why when there is chaos and strife aplenty the act of oversleeping is considered the most obvious manifestation of the power of Eris.

Or, put another way, this is an emotive topic and it might be better to think before fnording.

OK point taken, sorry to anyone offended by my post. As it happens I'm not discordian it's just that the RAW was the first book I picked up when trying to relax after a day of being stuck in Central London.

Well that was your first mistake, wasn't it? Yet more concrete influence that The Illuminatus! Trilogy is actively detrimental to emotional intelligence and so on.

Man, if you could provide some illustration of the overall impact of the bombs having been lessened by some chaotic happenstance, then you could be all "Praise Eris!" about this. You know, if you could prove that something dischordian happened to make less people be dead? Otherwise... sorry but well, ick.

ZosKia has said sorry for his original post, while I realise that after yesterday everyone is feeling a bit raw. This is starting to become a 'temple have a go' time.

I have seen similar things written on other sites about people who have missed trains, got up late, or spent too much time eating breakfast. And then missing their train or bus. And due to the sites I have been on, similar things to ZosKia's orignal post have been said. And personally yes I can see his point as I spent a long thanking my deities I didn't go out as planned. I can also see your point about how is does seem a bit tackless.

But please can people see that he has said sorry and this carry on only serves to high-light the problem that happens here. Yes I know people like quimper have eroded temple poster's patience but can we give a newer member a chance.

You may have a point, archraven, although I would draw your attention to the fact that there are exactly two (2) posts following Zoskia's apology. (I'd have posted my comment earlier but I hadn't looked in this thread.)

Principia Discordia MK2?

Whilst not having any other experience of Eris other than when I'm doing the work's accounts (she doesn't show up for personal accounts though *hmmm*) I have still being doing a little bit of research into her, and I came across this pdf, whilst I haven't had the time to completely read it with the Principia Discordia, the two seem to work together it does seem to answer a lot of my own personal questions on this Goddess and the Discordism movement. In fact it is a lot clearer than the first one, especially when reading the Erisian prayer (p35 of pdf).
Has anyone else read the pair in tantam, any thoughts?

PS to the person who sent me a pm on this a while back, I understand what you mean about avoiding apples now. Last time I did Bank Rec for work i was running between printer and computer and when flying on my lunch apple which had fallen on the floor.
