Picked this up; beautiful art but I've only skimmed it through, haven't actually read it yet. But I love Huddleston's art - I have ever since The Coffin.

Really enjoyed it. Reminded me a bit of Lynch, a bit of Cronenberg and a bit of Lovecraft. As such, it ticks all my favourite boxes.

Lots of nice ideas... very interested to see where it goes. Yeah, I'm in for the ride.

Finally read this -- nice art, solid opening set-up issue. I kind of wish a little more happened in the first issue, but we'll see where #2 goes. Is this 'monster' evil, or just kind of chilling out on people's memories? Maybe it's friendly and trying to communicate, share...?

Issue #2 comes out this week (today in North America, tomorrow in the UK).

VAGUE SPOILERS

Just picked up the second issue today. Its good stuff. That first four panel shot of the monster...man, that was great. Ray, I think you really captured those flash-cut memory sequences from TV shows with that. And Huddelston really pulled off something...the eye just initially flicks over it without really realizing what its seeing, at first.

The Ad-Comm awards...Ray, I honestly felt like some of the conversations we used to have in the MtA LARP. It was an interesting scene.

Overall I'm continuing to really dig this book. Great stuff.

Finally read the first issue mere minutes ago, just in time for the second. Makes a nice back to back. I'm really intrigued with the story that's been set up here, and even more so after reading the "On The Ledge" blurb by Ray and Hans. I had to look up "On The Ledge" three times to make sure I had the phrase right, how could I forget...oh oh! As well I really dug the cut scenes near the end, back and forth between blackness, past memories and fighting the beastie. Great stuff, this is going to be a great series.

This is well worth picking up everyone.

I didn't like the Coffin at all, but this is very nicely done. The first issue had been sitting in my big unread pile and I just picked up the second one yesterday and read both.

Will there be a trade?

Yeah, I was all ho-hum about #1, but apparently Fawkes took the voodoo skillz (he's famed for them) out for the second ish.

The ad exec stuff was top exposition.

Just a reminder: issue 3 of MNEMOVORE is out this week. Are you buying it? What do you think of it?

Ray: I'm definitely getting it. Really enjoying this, especially the ad exec stuff from #2. And the art is absolutely fabulous.

The fourth issue of Mnemovore is out this week - I hope you're still with it! We're moving into some experimental storytelling now, as the story begins to accelerate towards the climax...

Cool- must try to pick up a copy today- I'll let you knopw when I've read it. I'm trying to hold off on giving too many reactions until it's all over and I can read it at a sitting, but I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

I keep expecting the story to break down as the characters do... I haven't gotten #3 yet, but it oughtta be in my stack.

Which is my way of saying I find your comment on #4 very enticing, Mr. Fawkes.

I just read four, great read. I notice after reading it that one of the pages where actually stapled out of order (as I turned the page it fell out, having not really been stapled in the book) Interestingly it didn't interupt the flow of the narrative and sort of created a meta-tension as the pacing was breaking down and the events we sort of colliding.

I ended up pulling the book apart, replacing the page in (what I felt was) the proper order and returning the staples. It was delicate work but well worth the effort. I'll be rereading the issue later on; looking for a noticable difference in pace.

Other great great stuff. The artwork as well was looser and seemed to reflect the overall breakdown that was happening.

Picked up 4 yesterday...and I think mine might be stapled out of order as well...didn't seem as coherent as the previous 3, but that also might be because I was just about to fall asleep as I read it...

Mine had the unstapled page too... I'm fairly certain I've got it back in the right place now, though.

The story really seems to be opening out now- there's a very real sense of building tension, and that we're getting to the end. (Again, I'll try to provide a better response when I've sat down with the whole run).

It looks like the whole print run seems to have had this problem. Which is annoying. But it's simple enough to figure out what should go where.

I'm definitely enjoying this and am looking forward to reading it in one sitting...

Ach - My comp copies had that problem, but I was assured it wasn't universal. Looks like it affected more copies than we originally thought.

And yes, grant, the narrative is breaking down exactly as the main characters do. Wait until you see how it plays out in the final two issues...it's really something that's never been done in comics before (to my knowledge).

I must say I really enjoyed taking this issue apart, it's something I've always wanted to do, but never plucked up the courage. Unfortunately, there was an absolutely terrifying 5 minutes when I forgot where I left the staples

Quality comic too, I might add, I really have no idea where this is headed. I normally despise horror stuff, but this is up there with Lovecraft as one of the few things that actuallly manage to put the fear in me.

Really starting to enjoy this, after thinking the first couple of issues were fairly stock. But the story is becoming really interesting, the structure is innovative and the art is cracking.

Most curious as to how this is going to conclude.

For me, with issue three, it hit the point where you must go back and read the previous two issues, you knows things are happening, and things were probably missed during the first read-through.

Won't have issue 4 until next week No local comics shop here.

Wow. I'm not entirely sure what just happened, but it sure was great. The narrative breaks down completely, as we get the story of the fight all out of sequnce, full of inconsistencies, heavily editied flashbacks..........

Again, wow. This series has pretty much garaunteed itself a good few re-reads.

And will make a great collection as one won't be able to see certain ads through the lighter pages.

Gah. I'm not like...2-3 issues behind. May have to stage a raid on one of my local comic shops to see if they have back issues. The one guy I talked to never DID end up reordering when I asked him about it.

Thought I'd bump this up because the last issue came out last thursday.

I liked the art - lots of black and strong colours - and also the painted covers. Writing was tight, clever structure - Kaley's amnesia at the beginning was well handled, and the more experimental sections were a change from most mainstream comics. It did get a bit mid-90's Vertigo at times, with all the cutting and pasting.

Nice effect in the last issue; the two full-page images, one's the Mnemovore's eye. I just don't think I know what happened. Maybe you're not, like, supposed to know for sure? I'm gonna have to read it in one sitting to try and work it out.

So, undecided.

Some good stuff at the end there - i really liked the vague image of the mnemovore looming out of the whiteness and fliped forward and back to see if it was an image from another page showing through... But some of the rest of the art in the issue looked rush - what was going on with the axe? It seemed to be changing shape and proportion from panel to panel...

My usual shop never got 5 or 6, for whatever reason, so I ordered them both off TEH INTARWEB - just arrived this morning, perfect timing to help me while away the hours it's taking for me to install software in a client site.
Those last two issues were incredible! I'm definitely gonna have to drag the other four out and read it again, but...whoa...! Excellent work, Ray, and be sure to let us know next time you have a book out!

Apparently to become a film now, starring Kristen Bell; you've come a long way, October Ghost. I'll have to have a reread of these sometime soon, wasn't particularly enamoured at the time, but I've been wrong before.

Ah, and obviously we'll need an 18-page thread in FTV&T before release.
