Well, psi-lock, I fucked up too. I didn't go and see Low, I didn't book a ticket for Hem in time, and I didn't even go to Paris to see the Miyazaki/Moebius exhibition that I was planning to do if I didn't go to either gig.

Sigh.

Nine Inch Nails have just added two more London dates- 4th and 5th of July at Brixton Academy. Tix go on sale tomorrow and Saturday at 4pm. Considering how quickly the last couple sold out (about half an hour) I'm spending the day in the pub in Brixton tomorrow to make sure I get one.

Looks like the Saturday NIN also went on sale yesterday... after queuing in the rain and snow for ages at ye olde ticket office I got mine (Limited to 2 per person, unfortunatley, or I'd have bought a bunch).
Dead Can Dance have added an extra date... if there're still tix left by Sunday I may get me one...

Can't remember the dates, and I'm fully ashamed of myself for asking... but is anyone up for Cradle of Filth or Mortiis? (Mortiis has Panic DHH supporting- my best live band of last year)... only I don't wanna go on my own, and my meatspace friends keep laughing at me when I ask them...

Going to see Garbage at Brixton, and it looks like I pulled off a minor miracle in getting tickets. Whowants to touch me? I SAID WHO WANTS TO FUCKIN' TOUCH ME???

Never seen them before, but wanted to for, ooh ... eight years or so? So rather looking forward to it, even if the very little I've heard of the new album sounds a shade lacklustre.

I saw Low last week, if they are still on tour, beat people up to get tickets. They're playing a blinder. Slint are playing in Dublin tomorrow night (6/3/5). Yea! And Mercury Rev on Monday.

It's a good two weeks for gigs.

To all -

If anybody's going to next month's All Tomorrow's Parties, I'm looking to track down an extra ticket because one of mine has regretably been promised to two different people, and I don't want to be a bastard and declare somebody can't go..

Thanks.

Laurie Andersen (Anderson?) is playing through Europe soon. I think start of May in London. I saw her "happiness show in 2003 and it blew me away. (I didnt like her music before I went to her concert, but am now converted)
Einstürzende Neubauten are on their 25th Anniversary tour now, saw them last night and they kicked ass, playing songs from last 25 years, some never performed live. (They did a meanassed version of Kalte Sterne which was really weedy on vinyl but rocked last night!)

Captain Zoom
11:25 / 28.03.05
Zoom is unreasonably excited about going to see Duran Duran next week! I got Mrs. Zoom tickets for christmas and she kindly consented to my accompanying her. Now if only I could grow my hair into a cool eighties do by next week, life would be wicked.

Nick Cave at Alexandra Palace- august 25th tickets go on sale today- and supposedly its his only UK gig this summer?

Could be good- but Ally Pally is such a weird venue- on the one hand i like it cos i only live in Finsbury Park so its close- but on the other hand its a bit too Stadium rawk and the bar is almost as bad as the mosh cos its always so criminally under-staffed...

anyone gonna go?

Then in September there is the Electric Picnic, with the Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, Kraftwerk and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. Jesus, I wish I didn't get Glasto tickets there's too many good gigs in Ireland for the first time ever.

Psychic TV are playing the Supersonic Festival, Birmingham, July 9th.

Covenant (amongst others) playing the de-lovely Infest at Bradford Uni, August Bank Holiday weekend.

Also, James Brown is playing Wolves Civic sometime soon, but the bastard's charging £40. And I know he's the godfather of soul and all, but papa's new bag should NOT cost over £35. Having said that, sequins aren't cheap. Hm.

Erm. . .that's all I can think of at the moment.

Was gonna see Oh Susanna tonight, but according to her website, the gig's been cancelled. Which is disappointing, cos I didn't go to Menlo Park on Saturday so that I could afford this one tonight! Arse.

Oh well, Alabama 3 on Sunday, and Patti Smith next month.

psi-lock, Hem have another show in London, 22 June at Shepherd's Bush Empire. Wanna go see them with me? (I don't know anyone else who even knows them, though I do know plenty of people who would like them. Unfortunately, all of those people seem to be broke from going to see Patti Smith, Nick Cave, Menlo Park, etc etc)

Tiger Lillies are playing at Soho Theatre until June 11. I can't get anyone else to go...

I love Barbelith. There's always a pertinent thread on which to post something REALLY EXCITING you've just discovered COMPLETELY BY CHANCE.

LOVE (with Arthur Lee) are playing Islington Academy on July 7th and I am going.

Yeah, said it’s all right
I won’t forget
All the times I’ve waited patiently for you
And you’ll do just what you choose to do
And I will be alone again tonight my dear

Yeah, I heard a funny thing
Somebody said to me
You know that I could be in love with almost everyone
I think that people are
The greatest fun
And I will be alone again tonight my dear

Argh, I want to go to that, but I also want to go to Kathryn Williams at St. James Piccadilly on the same night...

Plus there's:
* Gilberto Gil at the Coliseum, or Nouvelle Vague at the Royal Festival Hall, both on July 11,
* Dick Dale at the Spitz on July 13,
* the Handsome family at the 100 Club on July 21

July looks busy and expensive, even if I can decide which bands I want to go to (if I can get tickets!)

psi-lock, check your PMs!

Current 93 in San Francisco (from durtro.com)

The San Francisco shows at the Great American Music Hall (GAMH) will be C93's only dates in the USA this year. David has decided not to play Los Angeles. Nurse With Wound are not playing these shows though Steven Stapleton will be in attendance at all the SF shows wearing various hats. We have also been informed by the GAMH that tickets are selling very quickly for both shows and that people intending to come to either night should obtain tickets sooner rather than later. Tickets are $30. They are available online from www.virtuous.com and www.tickets.com. They are also available from the GAMH box office (+1 415.885.0750) and Slim's box offices (+1 415.255.0333).

The line-ups for both nights are as follows; please also notice that MAJA ELLIOTT is also playing on the Saturday—her name was accidentally left off the announcement:

Friday 4 November

SIMON FINN
BABY DEE
OM
CURRENT 93

Saturday 5 November

Balls. I'll be working that night, but I'd recommend anyone else to go to HL. They've got this crazy bald dude on the drums.

Also next week, Skinny Puppy are playing at the Forum on the 10th, which is, I believe, Wednesday.
