I seem to recall mention of Flash playing a significna role. Considering the opening pages are written from Blue Beetle's prespective it wouldn't surprise me if he was dead by the end of it all. Seems to me that Green Lantern was added on, I can't seem to find any of the "older" versions of the cover.

The writer(s) are far better than Brad Meltzer. Geoff Johns is a strong go-to guy for stories about the DCU, well-told mainstream superhero stuff with fun, reverence for the characters and good characterization bits. Rucka is usually quite good (not crazy about his Supes run, though) and Winnick is ...sometimes OK.

Except Rucka's a solid writer, the art team is strong, COUNTDOWN INFINITE CRISIS!!!! is a stupidly exciting title, the OMAC revamp is interesting, Dave Gibbons and Gail Simone will be writing two of the spin-offs and you're really, really fat.

Countdown: Yes, for idiots. Rucka's the only writer on it that's even readable. Johns and Winick write some crap books. The entire "shared continuity... to the max!!" thing disgusts and frightens me. The spin-off books look boring, Detective Chimp or not. Can't give a crap about Crisis 2. Three or four months is not a long time.

Then again, it'd be hard not to be better than Identity Crisis...
