I am making a late dinner and then eating it in a cardboard box.

Are you living in the box?

No, the internet connection was too difficult to hook up and the keyboard kept getting wet. My boy and I are just playing in it. We made a fort/castle/pirate ship.

How ya doing fridge?

Then I'm eating mis-shape choccies for a while.

I just saw Sky Captain. Yay, Pulp!

And I'm going to play a little poker, then try and get some writing done before bedtime.

Yay, Angelina Jolie!

Briefly, anyway. So I've heard.

Shame.

Hello barbelites.

I saw Hero last night, and I still have a warm glowing feeling like I've accidentally been dosed with acid.

How is life treating you?

Man, I am going to see Shark Tale on Saturday.

Papess
01:48 / 28.09.04
^^meaning: I wanna see some grown up movies!

But I am sure Shark Tale will be a hoot.

*kids* films are often the best things around, Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Monsters Inc. etc.
if you don't mind me asking, how old is you boy? or rather is it a long time until you can watch the movies that you want to, with him?

Papess
02:23 / 28.09.04
He is 4, and this is actually part of his birthday present (birthday/week/month celebrations). It will be his first time in a theatre, ever. I didn't think he would have been able to sit through Hero, as much as he likes Ninja. Well, seriously, ninja was last month or so and he is back on the pirate thing.

He trips me out. Especially when he says, "Blah, blah, blah, fishcakes." He only had to hear that once.

Evening all. I dunno what's happened to the lateshift, the last two just haven't really floated.

Nothing new here, still seeking gainful employment, still trying to become part of the (or any) social scene here.

I think Haus v Jade, cross-faded with Anna v. Gambit, with that killer Rage v Everyone intro had distracted us all. The way a truly brilliant song will stop all conversation for a moment as people nod their heads.

Or maybe more like the way traffic slows down in the opposite lane from the hideous mangling four-car pileup.

Keggers machine was down for a while.

Hey Maz!

but i cannot help but watch. yes, highly distracting.

a volcano as well! after all those hurricanes, if i was religious...

Hey hey. Every time Florida gets hurricanes, we get tornados, to get in on the disaster action. I keep making the husband and the cats pile into the closet. This is getting increasingly difficult, as the husband gets really bored and one of the cats thinks that every time we're in an enclosed space, it means we're moving again, and gets very claustrophobic and sad.

But at least the apartment is still here/not hit by tornados/lava or under water.

Oh boy, I cn hardly wait for our Canadian winters. Especially here in Quebec.

I think I need a new pair of snowshoes.

Papess
03:33 / 28.09.04
How big is your closet, Maz?

Mazarine
03:37 / 28.09.04
Pretty big, but I'm using it for clothes. We can all sit down in it without being too much on top of each other, and there's a light in there, so it's a good place to hide, though my mom keeps saying we should hide in the bathroom instead.

Canadian winters. Yowza. It's taking the majority of my willpower not to crow about the average low in January round here. This low will come in handy if I don't find a tupping job soon.

Nothing like a bout of S.A.D to spur inspiration for the unemployed...and just think of those electrical bills!

I need a third job.

Papess
03:46 / 28.09.04
Or rather fourth job if we count parenting as an occupation of some sort. Doesn't pay much, but the long term benefits are amazing.

03:48 / 28.09.04
Not to mention I hav a really good excuse to go see first run kids movies without those suspicious glares.

...

four jobs! i've enough trouble keeping one.

I think I may be able to avoid SADS this year, since North Carolina's got pretty warm winters. Not like, California warm, but still, a damn sight more mild than Albany.

I interviewed to potentially work in an art studio as a production line plebe, but I really couldn't tell how it went. The artist thought my graphic designs were pretty cool, but those really have nothing to do with what she needs done, so it's pretty much going to come down to whether or not I looked sincere when I said I was good with X-Acto knives and hot glue guns.

Papess
04:10 / 28.09.04
Xacto knives and hotglue guns?! Man, I am so messy with glue, I botched all my mock ups in school. It was shameful. I sure hope you are better than I am with them.

Give me Quark.

Papess
04:13 / 28.09.04
Two full time, (that includes parenting full time), and one part time. But I think I need another part time job.

I think I need more hours in a day.

Mazarine
04:47 / 28.09.04
I will most assuredly back you up on prefering software to hot glue.

I should be job hunting at the moment, but instead I'm searching for new (to me) bands. I'm having one of those "sick of all my music" weeks.

iconoplast, where do you play poker? Is it on-line? I'm tempted to start the on-line poker, because my home game group seems to have given up on playing.

pokerroom.com

I turned my $1,000 play money stake into 40,000 and made a go of it with real money.

There's maybe twenty minutes of banking brouhaha to wade through and a ten dollar minimum deposit.

Then the lowest table is .25-.50 a bet.

I like it a lot, but that's because it's the only online poker site that works on a mac.
