Bad thoughts - crimes against logic

i have just come across an interview with a contemporary philosopher called jamie whyte, who authored a book called 'bad thoughts' (apparently published in the US as 'crimes against logic' - what is it with the US that movies, books and almost everything else has to have a US-friendly title?? separate question!).

he looks an interesting character - can anyone shed any light on his ideas and methodologies?

and any further readings on this topic by others - past and present - would also be appreciated. cheers.

Philospher, presumably from the logic-chopping anglo-american 'analytic' branch of the subject, turned investment banker... has written an article for the Times here

Said to be 'waging war on sloppy thinking' which must be up there with the 'war on terror' in terms of futility.

Can't see him getting too popular on Barbelith.

He sounds like a tosser. No, really, that article is perfect Times material and the Times is respectable fascism coated in jam so Whyte is not my hero.

Bad Thoughts review

...

as DecayingInsect said, seems like quite (reason)able analytical philosophy. some background reading could be A.J. Ayer's "Language, Truth and Logic" or maybe Logical Positivism isn't the route to take and you should return to Plato.
