Hello people, what's the good word this fine evening? I am deeply bored, and seek the companionship of others.

I am also deeply bored, having had little to do for the past week but offer huggles to kittings. But oh, they're so cute, I could eat them.

Except they smell a bit.

I'm kind of busy with work and stuff but will try to pop in intermittently.

Bless you both. How about a description of your newfound lovelettes, ginger?

Hi all - hope you're all snuggly, whether at home or work...

I'm chuffed because the office next to mine (unoccupied at night) has just been kitted out with a new PC, complete with 19" monitor, speakers and (most significantly) a DVD drive.

Hehe! My night shifts now consist of Radio 4, coffee, t'internet, reading books, coffee, watching movies, fruit and coffee. Cool.

Just off to watch some more of City Of The Lost Children!

Well, that's the confusing part. Well not really- 4 balls of black fluff with recently opened eyes. But one of them looks like it's ginger underneath and black on top, but the rest are pure black. I'm not sure if the father was our ginger cat (seems unlikely given that all are black) or the black stray hanging around outside when she got pregnant (but why is one secretly ginger?) I'm not sure where tomcats stand on killing kittens of their woman who are actually another cat's. Slightly scared he might smell they're not his and I'll wake up to four empty fluffy skins.

Anyway, I've found the extra hungry mum-cat an ideal way to get rid of all the tuna in the house before my psudo-family return from holiday, and the mother feeds me tuna pasta with a smile, and I eat it through gritted teeth. I just hope she doesnt come back, say "hey look! Bop's eaten all the tuna- she must love it- tuna for dinner every night!"

Today I was very pissed off, after I'd made puppadoms, and found I'd run out of mango chutney, even though I was sure I had another jar. Took the bus to tescos to buy more, bought 2 big ones so I didn't run out again, got home and found the illusive jar. Maybe I can wean kittens on it.

Love that movie. Hate the dub.

The babies sound adorable. I did not get to share in the "five minutes new" stage of my cats' lives, so I am a bit jealous.

I'm not sure if you can wean kittens onto mango chutney. One of mine has a deep love of hummus, so it's possible.

Ooh, kittings! Little black ones.

That makes me happy. Yay kittings.

Sally, you're right about the dub; very off-putting. Gimme original soundtrack and subtitles any day of the week.

I too missed out on the eyes-shut, fumbling about squidginess of my kitten's life, too, but we have the consolation of knowing that he would probably have been put down had we not rescued him.

We're going to get his bollocks cut off in a few weeks, poor chap, but we certainly don't want some neighbour having to cope with a whole clutch of unwanted little furballs.

Anyone got photos of their kittens?

Incidentally, in yesterday's Sunday Express there was a story about a dog in Phnom Penh which has allegedly given birth to a kitten (according to a "visiting forest monk", the dog had mated with a tiger!?!). It's very odd.

Ahhhh, 'Sailing By' on Radio 4 - I find myself lifted on gossamer strands and transported to a land of grinning pointy-breasted women selling ice-cream. Blisss.

Hi y'all!

I've only ever seen the non-dub City of Lost Children, thank god. Excellent film! Imagine that santa being the iconic image of Christmas: brrr. Kids would be intentionally bad simply not to have him come to their houses!

All this talk of kitties--I'm jealous. Cat's are great, but sadly I'm allergic...

Your ficsuit is somewhat ironic then. Perhaps the cat's acHOO would be better?

23:03 / 29.08.04
Mmmyessss.

But I don't have to be alergic to the iao of the cat, merely its dander.

Do cats sneeze? I've never heard one. I recall a dog sneeze or two, but cats? Hmm...it would be pretty cute, I'd wager.

Sekhmet
23:06 / 29.08.04
It's precious. The only thing that amuses me more than my cats sneezing is when they snore.

Anyone got photos of their kittens?

I'm sorry... twist my arm for a sec? Okay, that's good.

The girlchik.

The boychik.

The both!

They essentially look exactly the same, they've just sort of expanded as they've grown. They will be enormous someday.

i love it when you can tell your cat is dreaming--how twitchy and squicky they become, chasing dream insects, eating dream kibbles...

LOL! I imagine that would be great. The things I miss out on because of my darn DNA.

I used to have a cat when I was way young. I think I got used to it, as I don't recall my allergies acting up much while it was our pet. A stray I brought home. Used to do that quite often--enough that we kept a box of Tender Vitals on hand in the cupboard.

The last time I lived with cats, there were three, and it was too much. I caught a cold shorty after I moved in with my friend and the cats, and it didn't go away until I moved out. Three months of a really bad cold symptoms--not pleasent. Although, I loved the cats. Especially Beausoleil.

Aww, the both of them together is the best photo. The girlchik looks quite mischievious and inquisitive, and the boychik looks very sly and cool.

Why thank you. Odile's (the miss) specialty is the wide eyed stare and ferociousness, with grudging admission that she really does like being cuddled. Sage's (the lad) is puppy-esque unconditional adoration and snuggles.

I am also bored, but can't quite believe I'm sufficiently insomniac to be posting on Barbelith when I have to be alertly contributing to a meeting in less than six hours' time. I guess I'm just a maaaaad kerrrazy wackaday kinda guy... who'll be a grumpy fucker first thing...

And where the hell is Keggers?!

Or else it gets the hose again.

Lateshift's been a bit quiet the past few days. Everyone went and had a party and didn't invite me, didn't they?

the cat's iao
03:38 / 05.09.04
Hey Sekh. Perhaps they did, I wouldn't know. I don't get invited to parties. It's mostly because of my habit of trying to take large bites of people's tracheae.

Sekhmet
04:00 / 05.09.04
Hrrm. I think they have a treatment for that now...

So what's up? I'm at a friend's house and everyone else is watching TV shows I've already seen. Figured this would be marginally more entertaining.

And I'm trying to type on an ergonomic keyboard, which is bloody hard given my idiosyncratic typing style, so please forgive me if I suddenly seem unable to spell.

I'm not such a stickler for spelling. I mean, if I can catch your meaning, then why worry about the spelling?

A TV party, eh? Sounds marvelous. I don't really watch TV too much myself.

I'm hanging out with the rodents, and assembling a model. Whoo! That's a pretty exciting Saturday night, eh?

Probably a healthy outlook... I'm one of those people who shudders over a misplaced apostrophe. (I do have an English degree, so at least I have a good excuse for being anal.)

Eh, it started out as a barbecue, but we're all done eating now and everyone's either too drunk or too high to get motivated to do anything that requires effort. So it's Daily Show reruns on Tivo for us!

Sounds both more productive and more exciting than my day, I must say.

I feel boring and bloated.

the cat's iao

English degree, eh? You get much use outta' that thing? I have a philosophy degree. Perhaps we can sing the song from Kids in the Hall about having to cook up and eat our BAs?

Mmm-mm bar-BQ! That sounds nice. Whatdcha BBQ? What are people high on (out of curiousity, of course)? At least The Daily Show is funny and somewhat intelligent...

Sorry you are feeling bloated. That's never much fun.

Sekhmet

Ffft. (*snork*)

For the record, I don't watch much TV either - particularly not compared to most people I know. What I see is generally at other people's houses.

It's the people with the gargantuan flat screens you have to watch out for.

Sekhmet
04:42 / 05.09.04
Nah. Degree in English = office work. Blows goats, it does.

Various dead animals and veggies. I had shrimp skewers with onins and red bell peppers, and chicken green chile sausages, which were lovely but are probably the cause of the bloatation sensation...

Kids in the Hall... Great show... not on the air down here anymore, I think. Used to watch it though. Canada's best exports, comedy and beer...

Yeah. Although, sporting events on those monstrosities are pretty cool.
