If we're done with all that other crap (*hold on, hope*) and this thread isn't going to be deleted maybe we should try talking about the article that was so generously gifted to us. It includes such gems as:
ADD: Meanwhile, comics like The Invisibles and Promethea are mapping out a potential course for 21st Century humanity based on history, science and yes, magick. And they're doing it in monthly funnybooks. No wonder the nerds are so outraged when they don't get it.
Are the unwashed masses too dull to enjoy the Invisibles? Is it an impenetrable modern masterwork or antiauthoritarian fantasy wank with a magickal bent? Guess we know for sure now, thanks ADD. (Don't get me wrong, I liked the book but I don't consider myself particularly well read and it still didn't expose me to a multitude of new ideas or tear open the fabric of my psyche or whatever the fuck magickal experiance people seem to have when they read it. Maybe I should have jerked off to the sigil, I dunno).
CA:I'm more annoyed by the general ignorance and lack of respect for these guys.
Do Alan Moore and George Morrison really suffer from a lack of respect within the comic community? Someone explain that to me. Please.
ADD:The majority of corporate comics creators...are not artists in any sane sense of the word. [cut to:] Moore and Morrison, on the other hand, are true artists who've chosen to practice their art...
At this point I stabbed out my eyes. I have no idea how the article ends nor how I managed to type this. I can't find the phone and I'm afraid I'll bleed to death. Someone please make it stop. |
