I have a real weakness for the very "cartoony" (I know that's a rubbish adjective, but I can't think of another, it's too hot.) artists arouns at the moment, people like Pat McEown, Darwyn Cooke, Mike Allred, J Bone, Bruce Timm and not forgetting our very own Cameron Stewart. I'm not sure why but I get a real kick out of reading these artist's work.
Mike Mignola, he's great, I was just re-reading the Hellboy stuff and I'd forgotten just how exciting his layouts are with all those expanses of black. |
