Oh and back in the world of on-topic the distinctive vocal styling of !!! seems to be the impassioned howl (my favourite on the album is in 'Hello? IS This Thing On?' which, vocally, has to be a big difference to the LCD who're not overfond of screaming at the microphone.

Also, fewer handclaps.

Actuakkkly, as I said on t'other thread, I do find grime a bit hard to come by on the radio - stuff I like anyway. I find it highly unlikely that the Guardian is going to start sticking grime CDs on the cover, I think that music is too bloody knackering to just listen to if you're over the hill and past it (like me).

I saw !!! about four years ago at a bowling alley in Chicago (because I'm so awesomely cool and in the know and all that good stuff [yeah!]) and I danced the night away. This is a pretty big statement because I don't dance, I'm insanely self-conscious and well, dancing is just something that doesn't come easily to me without about a fifth or so of whiskey, and even then I'm sure it ain't a pretty site, but I was sober at the bowling alley I, along with the other thirty or so people in the place danced the whole time !!! played like no one was watching -- and even when no one's watching I still don't dance, it's hard for me to "lose myself" and stuff.

I really want to like !!!, but I'm a little tired of post/dance-punk right now. They've got some great things going on for them, only I've spent the last couple of years tuned in to ESG, LCD, 'In The Beginning There Was Rhythm' and the mighty, mighty Les Georges Leningrad. I'm just a little tired of it all. That regular, hard drum sound's beginning to sound pretty grooveless and, well, I just want newness! This isn't a cuss on the band, just that I expected to be blown away and all I thought was "I know you".
