I don't buy the Paris-Hilton-as-a-platform angle because the thing that put her in the public eye was, disturbingly, all her and her beau. And the male member is at best an accessory to Hilton's stardom.
And an important part of celebrity culture is that they appear like a seperate, interrelated, self-sustaining class. All of them are links to all the others. |
