The two-fisted tales of Oscar Wilde was anything but dull. My only problem with Seb O was that it was over so damn quickly. What problems specifically did you have with it Lady?

Sebastian O was the Matrix done right in a post modern victorian setting.
Pure Genius.
Read it again, it stands nicely the test of time and then remember the year it was written. Quite a few years ahead of its time...

Aagh. Sebastian O! Another comic I'm going to have to dig out. Damn you Barbelith, darn you to heck.

Has Sebastian O come out as a collected edition? It sounds cool as fuck.

Cameron - it looks fantastic. Very British.

But, hang on a moment! Chubby Da Choona... or is it BILLY THE FISH?! Was the New Direction GM was talking about just reselling old Viz characters to the Yanks? "Aye aye, seaguy!", or should it be "Why-aye, big man! Haway, pet."?

yeah and 'tsunami' and 'toon army' sound kinda similar when chanted. another aquatic-geordie connection for ya.

Sebastian O is a bit sparse.

Our Lady Has Left the Building

Whoops. Cameron, I've reread what I've written and I cocked up. I meant that I think that Seaboy is Morrison fluff, Like Sebastian O. I don't think Seaboy is intended to be The Filth 2: Let's Get Serious. However, I found Sebastian O to be somewhere between dull and very dull. As I said before, if it wasn't for doing what little I can to help out Barbeloids, I'd probably give it a miss.

The best thing to do is to read Seaguy before putting it in a category, I think.

But Falcon, I am the most important person on this board. The entire system is based on my petty likes and dislikes. Without me you'd all think grass skirts and clown shoes would be a really neat idea.

Clown shoes is a really neat idea.
Scary, but neat.

There's an interview with me about Seaguy at The Pulse. No new images (and for some reason the ones they have up are weird, the colours are all screwed up), but some info about the story...

"Anti-Dad"

"She-Beard"

Sometimes, I really dig Morrison's goofy side.

great interview, Cameron. very informative! if this doesn't make people buy it, I don't know what will. you managed to keep it straight to the point no matter how tempting it was to throw goofy replies.

and this made me go O_O again:

Ultimately, the sensational saga of Seaguy is meant to unfold across *three* 96-page volumes. The remaining two will hopefully be given the go-ahead soon. I've got the treatment for the second and third volumes and they're some of the funniest and most bizarrely inventive things I've ever read, so I really have my fingers crossed that I'll get to draw it all.

was it too risky to pitch the series as a full 96-page GN or a 9-part series from the get go? I know you guys can go back to SEA GUY when the time is right [much better than be cancelled in #8 of a series in nine issues], but I thought Grant's exclusivity could guarantee the series' end.

and I hope this can reach the intended broader audience with DC's maketing machine actually working on your favour.

FYI, the logo for SEAGUY is in this month's PREVIEWS: it's very, very cool. Kind of "mod", very circular. Did Rian Hughes design the logo? The "g" in "guy" is two big circles that are near each other but not touching. It's a great logo.

CameronStewart
15:12 / 08.04.04
Yep, the logo was created by my favourite designer, Rian Hughes. I specifically requested him for the book because I knew he'd come up with something brilliant.

He actually sent about 20 different ideas(!), from which we chose the one you saw in Previews - all of them were great, though, it was such a difficult choice.

The solicitation for Seaguy #3 is up:

Seaguy's first voyage concludes with an incredible visit to the moon and a dangerous audience with the Most Boastful Pharaoh of all. A shattered and grieving Seaguy must overcome his ennui long enough to save the world from a threat no one's even noticed. What exactly is the moon anyway? What really happened to Anti-Dad? And what is the dark secret of Seaguy's "perfect" world? All the answers are right here, in the mind-bending "Mummy on the Moon."

Cameron's faster than me.

well, at least we know Sea Guy doesn't die in the end [more series coming soon]... or does he?

oh, and for those interested there's a SEBASTIAN O TP listed just under SEA GUY #3.

Shades of the famous cover to CRISIS #8 where Supergirl bites it! And the Batman cover where he holds the (dead) 2nd Robin as well....

It looks beautiful, Cameron!

Dude, if I were you I'd be very proud. This just looks like inspired material. Mainly, keep on going, the world will be duller if for whatever reason you decided, well, to not do. So, y'know, don't.

Thanks Frankie, I am very proud of my work on this book. Hopefully everyone who gives it a look will enjoy it.

Thanks all for the support!

And look what came in the post for me yesterday:

Woop! I sense your excitement, Cam. Nothing like a package of freshly pressed comics... especially if you did them! Congrats, anyway.

In honour of this, I have marked off on my calendar "Seaguy! comic" on the day it comes out. Although actually, I'd already done that earlier in the week. Can't wait!

The answer to that question can be found on this very page, if you look just a few posts up...

Oops. I thought I'd read the whole thread the last time it was active, but didn't remember that part. Sorry. (And I also just read the answer on the Millarworld thread. I'm on fire today!)

There looks to be a lot more red in that cover than the pic I had on my desktop for a month... Have you been holding out on the good stuff Master Cameron?

the whole pic Cameron posted has reds all over, cube. probably the image [on my desktop too] is accurate.

another nice read, glad to know about the influences. and why did I bother reading Newsarama's reader comments, oh why?

I made the same mistake, Hector.

There are some sad motherfuckers wandering around that little pond.

I love Grant's comments about his new trendsetting movement. The Titanium Age, perhaps? Anyway, duh, I can't wait to read this.

"I can nurture to Olympic standard."

Gawrsh, that's honestly so sweet.

Looks amazing, and the new Grant interview was a lot of fun. Very excited for this.

The Vertigo logo (or whatever it is) on the upper left hand corner of the cover looks different than the usual Vertigo logo somehow....or is it just me? Or is that not the Vertigo logo?

CameronStewart
23:44 / 08.05.04
It is the usual Vertigo logo, run vertically, with a big #1 next to it to make a square.
