Sir Miles would be be proud!

Tally ho.

How utterly sinister to see Britain's upper-class hunting the downtrodden poor through the country. How long before we see this on the streets of London what?

well, I did see a KING MOB graffiti in NYC recently. Although it was just the two words, that's it - no visual or anything like that.

Geez. I've heard adult wankers that were just as bad. In Charing Cross station a few years ago I heard some upper class morons talking about how if Hare Coursing was banned they'd like to take up 'Chav-Coursing'. I've never wished to be able to shoot a bunch of people in the face, King Mob style quite as seriously in my life.

Ah, well as the user (in possible shame at his idiotic actions) removed his video, here's the news story about it;

From the Times.

I've seen King Mob a few times in NYC, once down by Studio B in Brooklyn, once up near the Bowery. It's always pretty cool to catch one around.

An article over on Newsarama excerpting the Grant Morrison section of the new book READING COMICS says that:

>> Before I go on, I should note that even though Morrison is the guy who holds The Invisibles' copyright, I don't mean to ascribe it to him alone: he wrote the whole enormous thing, but only drew one page of it.

What one page did Morrison draw? This is news to me.

It's towards the back of the penultimate issue, I think.

It's the one in the school where Jack recruits a young Reynard, if memory serves.

Yup, the last page of issue 3.2.

There's even a copy in my house now. Never really got into comic books/graphic novels. Even as a kid never got into the whole superhero thing, though I've got the Maus series, a few Crumb books and some Asterix.

Until I saw this thread, I didn't even know the comics connection to here. Doh!
After reading the thread, I had a look at other sites that referenced the invisibles and finally took the plunge. Couldn't find it locally in bookshops so I got it off Amazon. Really impressed by the first book, halfway though. Can't believe how complex it is, better than most novels. Got the second one in reserve as well.

Only downside is I'm going to have to buy the whole series, the 'Mass Anarchy' Disinfo book and the Gödel, Escher, Bach book mentioned above (which I've had my eye on for a while). The two Invisibles' books bring to 6, the books I've directly bought because of this site. Icelander, Hinterland, The Sot weed factor and infinite jest being the others. The first two above, I've read, the second I haven't yet, not least because having a small child means I don't have much time for reading.

Apart from that, as my partner says, "You're spending her inheritance on books."
I did protest by saying 'it's for her own benefit' when I bought yet another obscure Charlie Parker cd in the past, but this is even harder to justify...

Read our annotations and notes (and those from the elder-'lithian The Bomb) instead of the Anarnchy for the Masses book, or in conjunction with. Some of theirs are annoyingly pedantic, some misleading/misinterpretted, but the interviews and stuff were pretty cool. The ones here? Often more on-the-mark, debated and argued in the open, sometimes absolutely lunatical, with all manner of commentary and developing ideas, and they're free. Aside from the cost of internet.

Invisibles annotations and discussion - it's everywhere! But not always free or sensible.
