xk: you made my day with that info. "Perfume" is one of my favourite reads followed on with "Jitterbug Perfume" recently. Scent is a bit awfully important whether derived from pure nature or perfumeries. I think Mollinard does it far better than the "designers" and must agree with bitchkittie that more often than not, bad perfuming habits can be more aggressive and offensive than enhancing. Better that tho, imho, than smelling of uncleanliness or bad hygiene.

A friend's exchange student when he was younger, had the nasty habbit of spraying musky perfume all over rather than washing, and for years after that choking smell triggered a memory. I also get a similar thing happening when I smell Lynx, reminded of the kids at school who sprayed rather than showered post PE. Perfume is good if not overdone, my wife smells amazing anyway, and the occasional whiff of Marc Jacobs that she wears just adds to the overall package. I myself am a Paul Smith man.

I've heard good things about Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs, although I've never ordered any of their products myself. They do little packs of samples (called, rather whimsically, imp ears).

xk, I had the same perspiration issues you describe. Do you by any chance drink a lot of coffee? I recently switched to nothing but decaf (the horror, the horror) and the acrid odor when I get agitated seems to have gone away.

nope been coffee free for many years and it started before coffee was an option in my life. My green coats told me it is an aggression/anxiety response some people have. Some of us broadcast upsetness via body odor changes more intensely than others seems to be the best answer. When I'm not hulking out I smell like regular girl.

No one in my family has the issue but I did have a conversation with some BDSM peers about how some people prone to dominance may broadcast it via scent.

I dunno Kali.

tea rose ain't got shit on:

DEVIL’S NIGHT 2006:This is the scent of autumn night, fires in the distance, with a touch of boozy swoon, playful sugar and thuggish musk.

or

Kali:
This perfume is a blend of the sacred blooms of cassia, hibiscus, musk rose, Himalayan wild tulip, lotus and osmanthus swirled with offertory dark chocolate, red wine, tobacco, balsam and honey.

I especially dig all the warnings on the site not to eat the perfume.

The Kali one sounds divine.

I recently made some Kyphi, and I would like to smell like that. It's got so many weird things that aren't oil in it though (like juniper berries and cypress and raisins and honey and wine and galangal and sandalwood and I could go on) that I have no idea how I could ever make a perfume out of it.

Oddly, The Sanctuary have just started selling a kyphi range. Ha. Jumping on my bandwagon....
