Yup, it's that time again. Me'n'Lurid will be in the UK for a bit soon, early to middle September.

Anyone want to do something on Sunday the 7th?

Well, you suggest something then, Negativity Boy. JC? Old Cheesy Thing whose name I always get wrong?

Lessee now... There's always Camden. World's End, Devvy, Purple Turtle... no? *evil grin*

Now that would be a sight to see- barbemeet at the Purple Turtle. *snigger*

The Turtle in Islington's closed. (boo hoo- I loved that place)

I may be around- unless my car explodes on the way back from VW Action, from whence I shall be returning that afternoon/evening.

I dunno... probably about 6/7-ish, unless there are people who can't make that.

Would anyone like to suggest a central London pub that isn't the Princess Louise?

No.

I like being negative, I think I'll adopt it as my new persona. Oh, wait...

The Plough because it has roomy tables that everyone can fit around (oh our Lady I am but another voice for your fruitful ideas)?

The PL's bound not to have any seats and I shun it further on the basis that it's far too near to work for any pleasure to be derived from it on a Sunday.

The Black Cap? Loomis and I should be there, though we might be late-ish.

I'm up for meeting earlier if it's better for other people (am back on wagon at present so don't need to worry about "earlier time of arrival" translating as "earlier collapse into incomprehensible idiocy"). How central does the central London pub have to be? The Plough seems a good bet if we meaning "bounded by the Euston Road to the North, Hyde Park to the West, the South Bank to the South and Holborn to the East"...

The Princess Louise backlash starts here!

Sooooooo... The Plough or the Black Cap are equally good for me as they both have comic shops nearby and as a Sunday would suggest we go for mid afternoon starting(say 3-ish) with possible 'sloping off somewhere for a meal' activities for anyone thus inclined later on.

I'm all over the Black Cap namewise. Maybe I could be persuaded to think of the plough as being like a really big scythe, but you'd have to work at it.

Incidentally, can anyone give us floorspace on the night of Sun.? Our putter-upper can do us for the rest of the visit, but that one night is beyond hir capabilities. And since we're seeing you guys anyway...

We promise not to puke or kill things.

Well, we'll try and puke discreetly. But we really won't kill things.

When this gets arranged, do pm me about the details. I feel I have
a hair or two to split with LA.

Me an Mono found a great cheezy fake goth pub near the Amerikan embasy but
I can`t remember the name of it. O wait- I think it was Marlborough Head or somesuch.
They occasionally have pirate parties and seem to have a lot of room. Perhaps that would work?

Should probably decide soon, as our flight is tomorrow and we'll have less frequent access to the internet.

Lily: I don't know what you mean. I've nothing against your sort, some of them are perfectly ok, as long as they don't go pushing their practices onto me. Look, some of my best friends are...

Sorry, sorry. I couldn't help myself.

just to quickly check - is there going to be a second chance to meet the Adjective Nouns (ie the following weekend)? Because I'm definitely coming thru London then on the way down to Kent, whereas this weekend I'm only possibly coming thru London ("on my way" to Cambridge) and it makes my ticket more expensive.

There may be a second chance at some point, but not the following weekend as we'll be in Ireland for a wedding. It'd be great to meet you at some point, Deva, though it looks like the more expensive sunday is the safer bet.

Lurid, stop being so snippy. Just because Lilly is part of subculture that exists on the fringes of society, there's no need to make cutting remarks.

(Shall we just say the Plough?)

OK. The Plough it is. (Is that the place you meant?)

Still haven't got a time, though I'm inclined for an early one for two reasons. First, I never seem to speak to everyone I want to at these things and second, we are always late anyway.

Regrettable Juvenilia

Erk - no, that's not the right Plough. The one we're thinking of is near the British Museum / Holborn...

Okey Dokey. The Plough at some point on Sunday. Time, time. Errrmmm. Bearing in mind that the land of tea and crumpets has draconian licensing laws, adjusting for wind speed and altitude, that gives a time of....urrgghh. OK, we'll say 3, and try for lunch. Though we'll probably be encouraged to be early if people say they will be there and late if not.

As always, much depends on what time I wake up.

BTW, still kinda looking for Sunday night floorspace. A non-Barbelith option would make things complicated on the organisational front and that isn't really my strong suit.

You could stay at my cave but I only have one room (plenty of floor) I'm cool with that but some might not be - last resort maybe if nothing else comes along...

As Loomis said *elsewhere*, you're more than welcome to stay here in Lovely Leytonstone, land of Hitchcock and Beckham. And we have twice as many rooms as Bear.

We'll probably be a bit late getting to the pub - about 7 at the earliest - but can PM you phone numbers etc in case we have to meet up somewhere non-pub.
