Now, what I mean, extradimensional beings are simply nothing you can point a finger at and say what they "are". Actually, I think you bring to the "meeting" experience most of the context within which it occurs, and this is whether you know it or not. If you expect, believe or want to meet "extraterrestrial aliens" you'll likely meet those rather rude and bald guys, see them and feel them, because I think they kind of use our pre-arranged settings and enact them accordingly. We certainly empower them by providing a context for them to be either angels, dragons or genital-harvesting aliens. Or gods. Or succubi. And most of the times we don't know what kind of context we are really providing, no matter how strongly we desire it to be something else.
I guess that to a point rituals provide a narrowing down of the context through which the experience occurs. Still, it has to override our pre-assumptions and expectations, which are usually more deeply buried out of awareness than we take them to be. And very poorly understood, ranging from neurology, physiology, culture and I dare say also geography. Thats why you have to "work" until the desired manifestation occurs.
