I've always been a fan of Neil Young, by proxy almost (4-5 years ago i trawled through all music 60s and 70s), nothing really caught my eye (or ear) except for Harvest and Weld. Last year, I prepared my ipod for a 5 hour boat trip, and put After the Gold Rush on it. I ended up listening to nothing but that particular album the whole trip, the whole weekend. When I got home I did a quick read through of Wikipedia's Neil Young article and decided I'd better read Shakey. As I read Shakey, I started to listen through his discography and got to know his music. He has his ups and downs, but when he's up, he blows everyone and everything out of the water.
So, I was rather excited when it was announced that he would play in Oslo, and later Bergen. I went to both shows, just got home from the last in Bergen.

It's difficult to articulate how incredible both shows were. He started both of them off with Love and Only Love and ended both with Keep on Rockin' in the Free World and a cover of The Beatles' A Day in the Life. I think he may have stumbled upon the best live song ever in Keep on Rockin', it almost leaves you gasping for air. The rest of the shows riddled with classics, both hard rocking and acoustic.
I'm sorry this is just a brief summary of the shows, but it was pretty overwhelming, all I can say is, if you get the chance to see Neil Young live, you should probably do it.
