It's really not that bad. I'm enjoying it, personally!

Anyway, grant you are right about the fan tip. The trick is to position the fan directly at your head when you go to sleep, and i guarantee you will be kept relatively cool all night.

Only problem is, good luck buying a cheapo box fan in this country!

(By cheapo I mean a giant box fan for about $15, not a small oscillating fan for £20.)

Much as I love this weather... working nights and therefore having to somehow balance "not having the sun filling your room through crap curtains/not having a duvet over your head and rendering you incapable of breathing/not opening your window cos you live on a noisy main street" gets a little tricky.

hmmm... well, I just got caught in an impromptu shower. You know the type; big, fat drops of warm rain falling thru the hot stillness - that charged, silent scream echoing "you're gonna get wet".

Soluble humans hiding out in doorways and beneath awnings as I stride undaunted... my white T-shirt turning transparent, sticking to my flesh, already slick with a sheen of perspiration - I am Immune. I shall not melt. I laugh aloud at their timidity.

See... today is Laundry Day and beneath my clothes I am completely naked. Lol. Urban Commando, as cool as I can be while stalking thru this trashy, slashy "what-if" of a Wednesday...

Something I was told years and years ago as an affective method of keeping cool is this: run your wrists under the cold water. Chill those viens and the cool blood will move through you and combat the burning heat inside. Well that's the theory. And it works for me, especially just before I go to bed on a hot and sticky night (which as an aside is no fun to imagine when you're terminally single).
