Re: Miracleman.

Besides McFarlane, there are at least three other parties who may have a legitimate stake in the property. Also, Alan Davis has said that he owns the rights to the Miracleman comics he created, and has no intention of seeing them reprinted, though that may have changed since. Any reprints of Miracleman are going to be a long time coming.

i'm not anti-Gaiman in general, i'm just in an anti-Gaiman place and i have been for a while now. it's been growing probably since Neverwhere, which was a disappointingly awful pile of shit.

however, last night i was really, really high and talking to a friend who was just getting into Sandman and really excited about it, and i had a lot of fun. maybe i'm just a bitter old man now and i've just forgotten how much i liked him. i don't know.

Dude, Neverwhere was *fantastic*. It was the point where Gaiman went from the "do you see?" T-shirt to the all-over "do you see" bodysuit.

Is Gaiman hard up right now or is Vertigo? Between this, "Death: the Manga" and "Endless Nights", seven short stories about the Endless released in (you guessed it) a prestige hardcover edition, somebody seems to have bought a mid-life crisis car and be behind on the payments...

Not gone yet. But hey! thanks barbe-royalty, for sticking your smug faces in.

Really, this thread is like those conversations where everyone'd speculate for weeks over Logan's chinstripe.

1602 may well be bad, but I'll reserve judgement. I find the elasticity of the premise interesting; that it is supposed to be set in the MU, and so on, and Neil thinks he's come up with something no-one else has before. And the Elizabethan stuff, as in stuff relating to the Queen and her [SPOILER!] death, could be pretty sweet also.

Sorry, Duncan, I'm not sure I understand. Are you objecting to any discussion of comic books before they are released, or just any discussion of comic books before they are released that suggests that they might be anything other than GREAT?

You know, we need to know so we can delete the offending threads.

Ah, so this is just a vague feeling of being better than everyone else rather than an actual thought-out stance. I'm depressed by your negativity.

Though I would not describe myself as excited I will probably buy this series. It looked to me that Gaiman had a fairly good take on elizebethan style magic going on. It is just interesting enough for me to hand out money to. I think that Gaiman was also "do you see" at us in a different way. Forget the Angel name drop. The Inquisition is burning an Angel at the stake. Isn't that Ironic or something?

But of course.

I wonder if he will sink or swim.
