I needed an indifferent button too, and the questions were veerryy biased, and you would just think very few people would choose the more authoriatian/conservative answers: Like "do you believe that nobody can be born naturally homosexual" I dont think many people would put strongly agree...

Kit Kat –

I was wondering what your results would be like, Leap –

Glad to figure so prominently in your thoughts KKC!

I was half expecting you to come out with positive results on the economic scale. Interesting that you haven't. Does it tally with what you'd expected? I ask because I'm trying to work out whether the test is inherently skewed - it does strike me as a bit odd that most people have such similar results.

First of all a typo apology (libertarian/authoritarian should have been – 4.13 makes little difference but just making sure).

As for what I expected……I did expect to be “bottom right square” rather than bottom left, certainly…..

As for the use of libertarian and anarchist as synonymous….seems a little odd to me…..

I have also tried many people in my office, along with 3 netted friends who do not work here, and we ALL (from office junior to management) came out as bottom left corner types (including both a tory voter friend…and my missus (who is socialist)!) . Hmmmm seems a little suspect!

Weird thing is, on the “advocates for self-govt” test (the original 4 pole 10 question test) I am arch-libertarian…………..go figure.

Well, I've linked to the Political Compass from a couple of other, more conservative message-boards - and no-one's got a positive score. The questions must be skewed..

I did. *sigh* I used to think I was an okay guy, really.

Economic Left/Right: 2.50
Authoritarian/Libertarian: 0.82

Anyway, I think I'll still claim that I'm a moderate.

Interesting; I just looked up this again because of the conservative/liberal thread in headshop, and to check if the other dimension was indeed 'libertarian' not 'liberal', and my new score is much more hardline:

Economic Left/Right: -8.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.18

Still no Mordant, but I keep trying.

"-4.88", "-5.59" that sounds so negative. The reading list looks interestig.

I felt that the possible answers were too limited, though.

Economic Left/Right: -5.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.23

I want to say that when I took this back in 2003, it showed that I was far less communist (economically left). I wonder where I'll be after a few more years of the Bush administration.

I'm almost pon top of the Dalai lama (with all due respect). It seems to be the most common result in Planet Barbelith. [transform into sarcastic mode]We do need more conservatives [transform into gun mode]

The test could indeed use a indifferent button. And it should have ten times more questions

Legalize Mary!

I'll do it again, excet all press only the "strongly disagree" button. let's see what happens:

Economic Left/Right: 0.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.36

hmm, curious.

Goshwow, I am TEH COMMIE ANTARCHIST!!1!93 it seems.

I think Lurid was right way back when about all that strongly agreeing/disagreeing skewing the test somewhat. Theh again, so many of the questions were very easy to approach with vehemence.

I must confess a degree of penis envy at the higher negative scores here.

I read, and failed to understand, the first question. I'm putting it down to tiredness, but it might be that I am a political moron, just left of centre of Well'ard from Eastenders...

It wouldn't let me NOT answer some of the questions I felt to be, well, stupid and narrow, so this is only a rough estimate.

I don't remember my score, but I seem to remember I was a slightly left wing centrist with an extreme social-libertarian inclination.
