Andrew C*** passing himself of as Haus

Based on a ridiculous conversation I heard between two English twarts last night, in which they tried to outdo each other regarding where they'd been and what they'd seen.

I'll go first.

"Well I've been to the Grand Canyon!!!"

I have seen only your small cousins in Scotland, Stoatie, dancing and gyrating in the garden. A full sized adult male stoat, such as yourself, might overexcite the gentle Scots.

I have also been to Wales and can confirm they were entirely stoatless for the duration of my stay. They seemed to live very quietly there, subsisting on a diet of leeks and rugby. Curiously, despite their very sexy accents, the men were uniformly unattractive.

I have never been to Ireland though, in spite of having lived with an Irishman for six years.

On the world heritage sites front, I have made a pilgrimage to the fort in Monastir, Tunisia, where they filmed most of The Life of Brian.

Well *I've* been to Hope Cove, the place where 'The Comic Strip' filmed the wicked scene in Supergrass, where Robbie Coltrane carrys a guitarcase and strides along a jetty to 'Two Tribes go to War.'

I went to New York for New years. I also went to Holland for four days last month.

I think I was Spain and Portugal at some point in my childhood on boring Holidays where I was too old to take part in the kids clubs and too young to get wasted.

I've been to Germany, Austria, and (briefly) Greenland. Stateside, I've traveled and lived all along the East Coast and along the Gulf, the highlights being New York, Boston, Orlando (The City Without A Soul), Atlanta, Mobile, and New Orleans.

But I've never been to the Grand Canyon.

I've been to Redang, Malaysia (go there, go there it's wonderful) America, (New York and Florida) Australia, Mexico, all round Europe and during a recent visit to a travel agent looking for a flight to the Far East, I was offered one which stopped overnight in Jordan, (if you don't know where Jordan is, you should have paid attention in Geopgraphy) for only 30 quid less than normal. Which, needless to say, I politely declined.

*whispers* Anna, shhhh about the shop.

OK, seriously now... Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, France, Spain, Portugal, Iceland, Greece, Italy, a service station in Germany, New York.

Definitely not enough places on that list... in the next few years I really want to add Poland (Warsaw is a definite), Berlin, New Orleans, Prague and Hong Kong on to it.

I've never been to the Grand Canyon, but I've been to...

El Barranca Del Cobre (Copper Canyon) which covers 4 times the area of the 'grand' and is only accessable by a train which veers along cliff edges through 78 tunnels and 94 bridges and took 100 years to build and when you look down into the canyon from the train you see the wreckage of other, less fortunate trains who failed to make the trip! AND when you get off the train in the canyon, most of the people don't speak Spanish, but Tarahumaran, and they do fun peyote rituals and go on 500 mile marathons...

...which is pretty damn cool if you ask me.

Baz Auckland

Oh yeah. Forgot to add it's in México.

Solitaire Rose as Tom Servo

I went outside. But not for very long, and I ran quickly back inside. There were teenagers out there, and they scared me with their saggy pants and loud voices.

Yeah, well... I've been to Iowa. And Louisiana. So... yeah.

Oh screw you all. With your trains and your nearby accessable other cultures.

Let's see... I've been to New York (live there); to New Jersey; to Pennsylvania; to Ohio (for a couple of hours); to Indiana; to Chicago, Illinois; to Canada (keep forgetting which parts and cities); to Florida; to Connecticut (for a few hours); To Tucson, Arizona; to *ahem* the Grand Canyon; to different parts of Florida; to Los Angeles; to Las Vegas; made bus stops in most of the Eastern seaboard states and I think that's about it for the United States (and Canada). I've also been in Rio De Janeiro(sp?), Brazil; to Moscow, Russia (where I was born and lived till the age of 8); to other places in the former U.S.S.R. (though I never was in Leningrad..uh...St. Petersburg..uh..whichever); I was also in a couple of places in the Czech Republic; Bohemia; Vienna, Austria (and some other places outside of Vienna); Budapest, Hungary; Baku, Azerbaijan... and I think that's about it.

Oh, and I was at the Hoover Dam so there!

Btw, my dad works with some company that does, I believe, stage design. He filled up two passports already with foreign visas. All that on the company's dime. So what I'm saying is that if you want to travel then one could take a job that sends you to places.
