How about: in the moment of death, he infects Wolverine with nano-sentinels which bond to his skeleton, into which he downloads his consciousness? Wolverine is still in charge of his own mind, but Magneto rides his robot bones and turns him into a short hairy puppet.

Man, doctor Doom already pulled that shit once before.

IN THE FUTURE!!! I might add, but I can't for the life of me find the cover to the issue for the life of me.

Guardians of the Galaxy #39 is probably the cover you want.

Our Lady Has Left the Building

I made it halfway through the thread before giving up... it could be a ghost you know...

Well... It's being claimed at Millarworld, allegedly based on a preview copy of Excalibur #1, that...

...Magneto is already back. Apparently no explanation until next issue, he just shows up on the last page. Of course the poster could just be yanking our collective chains, but will anyone really be surprised if it turns out to be true?

That's in this thread, btw.

Thanks for linking that again, simplist.

I've seen the preview art (no dialogue) and it could just as easily be Quicksilver.

"Ah, it's to be expected. 'Tis Marvel, after all.

If we'd seen Magneto's corpse ripped to shreds and eaten by rabid mutant cannibals, they'd still find a way to bring him back. "

Envisions turds in sewer slowly sneaking t'ward each other a'la Terminator 2 iron works scene"

I doubt Claremont would be the one to bring Magneto back, especially so soon. It's probably a fake-out. Claremont is old school.

Our Lady Has Left the Building

Claremont might say that Xavier was in Mags mind when Wolvie killed him, so a little piece of Mags attached itself to Xavier, Quimper-style, and he's being haunted by Mags living in his memory.

The Falcon

Is that not what caused Onslaught?

For what it's worth, having skimmed that preview issue myself, there's also an appearence by the late moira Mctaggart and some hints that Xavier may be hallucinating.

And the dialogue is bad, even for Claremont.

I've only seen the complete, dialogue-free scrapped Igor Kordey version of this, and I don't think we have much to worry about.

..Perhaps it's not Magneto..
...maybe it's the triumphant return of Joseph....

Triplets

That would be so face-rockingly awesome. I loved Joseph

D. Falconer Is that not what caused Onslaught?

Yeah but it's best if creators just rewrite old stories all the time, they shouldn't be expected to come up with new ones.

Hmmmm. Wow, took them a whole six months to ressurect both Mags and Xorn.

No, it took them two months. The time covered by Here Comes Tomorrow doesn't count.
