I'm not sure how Customs regs in Australia are, but I know you can send perishable foodstuffs domestically via the FedEx Dry Ice pack (which, apparently, is available for shipments to Thailand).

And is described in this pdf file. Apparently, the packing materials are available for free from FedEx. Shipping (from my house to matsya's house) for a 3 pound box seems to cost around $60.
