We want to make a video

A colleague and I want to make a training video for use with our staff teams. Twenty minutes or so, couple of clear learning points to stress about a clinical management system. Bit of role play of people doing something all the wrong way and then some voxpops and conclusion pointing to the right way.

Been scouting about for professionals to do the technical stuff for us, from our script (not yet written, colleague flicking through "The Office" scripts for inspiration...)

Have had one good estimate and another much cheaper but their product will likely be too amateur.

Got any suggestions re:
1. media monkeys for hire whom you'd recommend?
2. advice from the more experienced video producers or film students amongst you?
3. would I make a good Tim, if my colleague does go with a pastiche of The Office or, in all honesty, am I an irredeemable Dave Brent?

If you're acting as producer, make sure everyone gets fed on set/location, and stay out of the director's way as much as possible.

I thought this thread was about porn when I saw the title. Pah.

Nah, Bill, I just borrow my dad's cam for that. I sell well in the Inuit market and Ganesh appeals to repressed elderly Germans. Hairy Poofter and the Philosopher's Bone is a classic of the genre and we have high hopes for the sequel, HP and the Dungeon of Secrets.

Cripes, a. you're channeling Deva and b. count me in, 'cos I'm young, naive and need the money. Just so long as Brian Blessed's not involved, that is... one has to know one's limits, after all.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person in the country not bringing out a video for Christmas.
