About RUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE

Noticed Ruuuuuunce got his name dropped in the GM interview, and so...

Being said from the horse's mouth that he was both brilliant and right on to the point of scary, can any of us ever argue his POV again? Also (directed to RUNTERS) what research, etc. did you do or what exactly did you channel to put you so closely in touch with GM's frame of mind? And how cool is it that he thinks so highly of you, considering you (like we all) must respect him highly also, given the amount of time you've devoted to The Invisibles?

(And, as I'm so very new to the story, can I have a hotline for when I'm hemmed up?)

Yes, but yawn touched the hem of his garment. Who wins?

Yeah, but Rns is Grant, no matter what he says. Even if not, we all know Grant only ever decides that his work means something specific when he reads somebody else's definition of what that something is and thinks it sounds cool.

davephilpott, you are runce and I claim my £23

If that were true then davephilpott = runce = grant and we know this isn't true, based on the silly fucking posts I've made. Though Runcey may be a non-fiction-suit for GM.

Wow! £23 = £2+£3 = £5, which is exactly the amount you used to get for a star letter in the Beano! Spooky!!

Well, there are loads of people here who know I'm not Grant: Bengali (and anyone she's mentioned the IRL me to [which must be loads of people, because I'm very important!]), glassonion (who is NOT me!), Pranny (my brother), Sleazenation, Cherrybomb, Fraelyboy.... Ooooh, no-one seriously thinks I'm Grant...do they? Everyone knows I'm one of the Brighton twarts.

I hate Grant saying stuff like "everyone should listen to runt" - it makes me cringe. It's obvious to anyone on this site that they shouldn't. But, if he meant it in relation to the Invisibles, I'm not so bothered. In fact: bloody great. I've spent ages boring people to death about the book and it's about time I got the head-nod from the big man.

I listen to everything you say *apart* from when you talk about the Invisibles - how's that for perverse?

As if we could trust anything Morrison says.

Personally, I hate my posts on The Invisibles. They do my head in - I can never convey what I intend w/out it sounding pretentious or confusing: occassionally I get it just about right. But that's the problem w/ talking about that bloody comic - it's like Twin Peaks or something: you try to tame the bastard and suddenly yr somewhere else and nothing makes sense and yr original point is lost. I always look back at them and shiver....and I hate the replies.

..which is what's so great about it surely.

For what it's worth, I've got a big text file of your various invisbles related posts somewhere, which I was impressed enough with to want to print them out and stick them with the comics for future reference..

..but then I realised that was slightly scary, and didn't.

Runceinawhile, your posts may not be what you intend, but what you imply gets across, or at least sets me in the right path to In-lightenment. I've only started reading the story this May, in TPB's, having only finished the story Nov 17, when I got the ending. I haven't read ANY of the reference usually recommended. I wanted to get my own interpretation out of it.

It just turns out that most of you have a more interesting interp than mine. Or at least it sounds more plausible. But I agree with Rizla, I've used some of your posts as a guideline for explaining the story to other people.

Runce's real name is Grippin Stubbs and he is an honest to goodness real life hobbit.

Well, just because Grant says Runce is right on about the Invisibles, it doesn't mean that he's right about everything else Morrison's written, or anything else in this world. It also doesn't mean anyone else's interpretations aren't as valid as Runce/Morrison's. So let's just give a tip of the hat to Runce, and not make much more out of it, eh?

I like Runce's posts, anyway - especially the magic angle on Invisibles/Filth, apart from a slight tendency to curtness..

*Hats off to the Runce*

Let's never talk of this again.
