Sorry to be short. Not a lot of time in my life these days.

Reason?

I'm trying to get into parliament.

On a legalize dope, queer, free software/no copyright, right to free movement, fuck-the-army-ticket.

Am I betraying the anarchist cause?

The party in question is the Green party in Finland. The place: Helsinki.

Thing is, I just might get elected, only needing about 4 500 votes, there being about 15 000 dope smokers in town, and NO ONE ELSE campaigning for pot legalization.

If I get elected, beer's on me, mates.

Wow, Barbelith invades government. I'm dodgy on parliamentary powers, especially in Finland. Can you write bills, form committees, endow thinktanks, etc?

I'll say it again: Thinktank. In Helsinki.

Good luck, BD. Tell us what you need. Where are you campaigning/selling your miserable soul?

(just noticed the topic abstract) Participating in elections is only a betrayal to idiot anarchists, and free-range thugs. Fight the power with the power, so to speak.

Right now I'm in the process of getting the one thing I really need: visibility. One way to achieve this is of course through "provocation", or actually by saying things as they are.

"I smoke dope", for instance.

And then doing it publicly, accepting the consequences, and hoping that this will appeal to enough people.

Oh, and money. I desperately need money..
In Finland the committees and thinktanks are formed by ministries, not individual MP:s. Still, the Greens, even though in opposition right now, have been in government before, and may well be so again (though not likely if I get a say). If that happens, I'll remember to set up an investigative committee on globalization issues and gender mechanics, and get you people over as experts or something.
