I recall someone in some previous incarnation of Barbelith posting a link to a New Scientist feature (was it New Scientist? I'm only 97% sure.) concerning a scientist who believed that it might be possible to split an electron and that this has already been done (albeit accidentally) back in the 50s. Anyway, does anyone else remember any of this? If so please post some info on it. The New Scientist issue number would be nice.
