I'm looking forward to going shopping on Saturday! Payday today! Woot...

No suggestions though, still trying to think of things for My Family...probably lots of DVD's for all seems they're all DVD freaks now.

Was going to buy a PC for the family but it was hot, how very working class of me

You can't go shopping on Saturday, you naughty bear. It's Buy Nothing Day.

I'm going shopping on Saturday too, bear - we can fight through the protestors together. I like the idea of BND but I have a shopping trip all planned (for me, not for presents!), so I'll do my nothing-buying another day.

Well, given that I'll be refusing to see my family for about the third year running, I won't be buying anything except a bottle of whisky. For myself. Bah, humbug..

Buy nothing day eh? Yeah well I hardly ever buy things anyway so I'm sure who ever is organizing this will let me off. Anyway I'll probably sleep in and not bother But can I still buy cigarettes or do I have to get some reserve tomorrow?

Course we did, stolen computers, bottles of whisky, cigarettes and a protest on a high street. Perfect for any Christmas

Tell us what sort of things your family are into then?

There is a community of artists and craftsfolk who have their studios and workshops in Iliffe Yard and Peacock Yard off Kennington Park Road (London Underground - Kennington). Every xmas for one weekend only they open up their workshops to the public. There are fine artists, ceramacists, silversmiths, jewellers, cabinet-makers, clothes designers, photographers etc etc etc. There is some great stuff there, and some real bargains to be had, as they are selling direct to the public. Sorry, this is sounding like an ad. It shouldn't - I have no stake in it whatsoever other than as a punter who has got about 50% of his xmas gifts there for about the last 7 years. This xmas' open weekend is the 7th and 8th December.

I forgot to mention the mince pies and mulled wine.

For some reason I misread "mince pies" as "mice piss". I think I should go back to bed.

well, mum is your traditional middle class lyearnings type of mum, my brithers are as sick as i am, and my dad....well i dont know. except hes left handed, but i have used that todeath.

so we ned clever and special, but still fairly generic, and then pretty much anything goes for the bros.

one of them is getting the "i fucked the girl from the hansons" tshirt already.

Thanks for fucking up my head, Chairman. I saw something on a nature programme a while ago about kestrels having infra-red/ultra violet (?) vision which enables them to see the trails of urine their rodent prey leave behind. I was thinking about this only today for some reason - and then you go and mention mice piss...

I think I need to go back to bed.

Why not buy them books, toksik? That way you can cater for everyone's tastes...

My sis just returned from her studies from another town. The next day she bought quite a number of nice buns of various variety and stuffings which looked good and tasted good. I'm gonna try to make a guess where she buy those buns and visit some bakeries and buy those same buns myself.

Well when you find out let everyone know and we can buy all our family members these magic buns.

In a piece of brilliant lateral thinking, I'm going to get my Mum an album by Mum (pronounced moom, with an accent over the u). Seriously, I think she'll dig it..

Can't think what to get my dad though..

An album by Gay Dad?

I've already done all my Christmas shopping. Online, all of it. I'm pretty good at buying presents for people, I reckon. I got my mum a living phalenopsis (sp?) orchid, which I've already given her. Beginners orchids are great presents - they're beautiful, easy to look after, and they don't get boring.

Last time I tried that me and my sister both bought each other the same album (odd, really, cos she listens to absolute shit these days. It was about 12 years ago and it was the Twin Peaks soundtrack), therefore, we'd already both copied it before wrapping it up.
