Mrrm.
'S okay, not one of the better ones. The colouring returns to being flat and 2D like it was in X-Force, which some might say is kind of the point, but I like it better the other way.
Xavier gun-wielding! is good. I like the way Allred draws him - a man to be respected, and perhaps a little feared...
ooo
Havok prototype suit. You either know it or you don't.
Venus is a really annoying good girl-type isn't she? She's being set-up to be Edie's replacement, innit? But we're all going to be like - 'Fuck. Off.' Nextgen-fanboys W000T?
Some good archetypes still running about, but this'n's gone slightly to pop excess, as far as I'm concerned.
Then i said
Isn't pop excess kind of the point of xstatix?
I really enjoyed this issue. Myles disillusionment with the team is growing. Venus remains an outsider within the so-called team, unable to see that the team is riven with inter politics and back biting like, well any media involved group. Xavier's more sinister side is also interesting. What is often forgotten in the x-universe is he is an eccentric millionaire, and its interesting to see him security guards to protect the Mansiion... do we think they were mutants or humans? |
