Invisibles Vol. 3 in the UK

I do not know, the how or why of it, as this is not released here until January, but on the way to work today I stopped by Forbidden Planet in Southampton. Lo and Behold, at least five copies of The Invisible Kingdom stared back at me. I am deeply confused, and elated.

No mystery - you're probably looking at imported DC-published collections. The UK one will, I guess, be published by Titan.

ONE- You're a So'tonite? Which So'tonite are you?! I MUST KNOW! I WOUDL RATHER DIE THEN NOT KNOW!

TWO- Does this new-fangeled "import" thing of which the liar speaketh have actual art that actually has anything to do with the mutehrfucking script??

I picked one up in Gosh... they had loads. (And would ya believe, I was missing an issue from Volume Three and had therefore banned myself from reading it until I had them all? I've FINALLY after all these years now read the ending. Me like.)

ONE. ........................

TWO. The art in the copy I bought the yesterday does indeed have the pages redrawn, so its all very nice

I bought it the same day, from the same shop. Now, do I make guesses as to your identity?

jeff

(Off-Topic) I could spoil it by telling you my name, but perhaps it would be more "fun" to guess.

I worry about you, pin.

Let's make this easy on my achey head. Have I met you? Do you have the nessessary skills to break into Forbidden Planet because it's always shut when I want to go there? Why do my parents insist on making So'ton free to get to on Sundays? Why can I never just stay on fucking topic?

Half the staff of forbidden planet are evil!!!!!!!!
Or they were when I went to get Bloody Hell in America.
However I must state that the other half are not only not evil, but genuinely decent human beings. Praise be to the fuzzy haired guy.

I feel I should step in at this point (being ex-staff from Forbidden Planet London)- the staff aren't actually evil in general, they're just really bitter about being paid a pittance by Nick "Titan Books" Landau. And it tends to spill out into day-to-day behaviour.

Some of them probably ARE evil as well, but I thik that's beside the point.

The fuzzy haired guy is one of the Wee Papa Girl Rappers. Just ask him new time you see him.

Hmmm. I know who you're not. There's one huge Prisoner fan in the Southampton cell (bigger than either myself or JtB) but I'm fairly sure you're not hir, as I'm pretty sure they would a) know the identity of the fuzzy haired bloke, and b) would have let me know that they were collecting Invisibles trades, and c) kept more of a low profile setting up a new fictionsuit.

Do you know who I am? Are you animal, vegetable or mineral?

Wee Papa Girl Rappers? Huh?

And I wasn't actually calling them evil. I was just pissed that they don't open on Sunday. Tho one guy really was evil-

Me, with a bass on my back and an amp in my hand and an over-stuffed rucksack and I'd already looked around the store but I hurt and was tired and looked a mess and depseratly wanted someone to be ncie to me and I couldn't find what I was looking for and moving around the store meant I knocked stuff over which I had to pick up: Do you have New X-Men.

Him, with a comfy chair and a mug of coffee and no work to do: It's alphabetical.

But still. Who are you, numberfortyeight (descend into cliches and quotes and I'll, I don't know... Tell you my psychology homework something)?

I might have to buy a copy of the book actually - particularly because of the redrawn chunks - because I found the third volume very hard to read on a month-by-month basis... Might make more sense in one block...

Just finished (about half-an-hour ago) reading it all from the start again (well, for the first time in one go). That was very cool. Though I now feel the need to go on a Moorcock/Cornelius re-reading spree.

(It'll be PKD next, then Lovecraft, then RAW, then I'll start thinking "hmm, haven't read the Invisibles for a while...")

Damn you, Morrison, and your fashion-conscious terrorists.

Wile everyone is discussing their reading matter , I thought I'd just say that you should really read The Manuscript Found at Saragossa, by Jan Potocki, if you'd like your brain turned on its head. It's got Kabbalists, corpses, crazies, werewolves, and a mysterious inn. What more could you possibly desire?

The Return Of Rothkoid

Of course, if anyone wishes to buy me any of those The Invisibles trades that're on my amazon.com wishlist, I'd be grateful...

Shilling? Me? Never.
