Ok i've not had anything to say for a while but;
Who saw the thing on the news about the German guy (Prof. Gunther von Hagens') doing the public autopsy?
You should hear some of the things people are ringing up and saying to the radio/TV. It just leaves me thinking this whole dam country is closed minded.
One good call I heard was from a guy who was there, saying "no one tells me what I can and can't see, its my choice. I have a body too, and I have right to learn more about it and the way it works if I so choose". I was like "right on, its not just art is education!".
But then someone else comes on and says "it disgusts me to what levels people will go to for entertainment".
Hello every kid does biology at school, most schools in the UK do dissection in class, but kids are given the right to choose if they take part. So why then when it comes to adults 'Choosing' to take education is there an out cry against it and people talking of banning an exhibition like this from coming to the UK again?
Public autopsy = Deranged entertainment (words of a caller)
Dissection at school = education.
Make your own judgements, everyone has a right to their own opinion.
But if we keep letting the minority of closed minded people in this country censor and keep on censoring us and what we see, then there wont be anything left for us to see!
Use your voice.
