I strongly recommend that everyone get in on the latest Freaky Trigger Pop Music Focus Group. It's pretty easy and sort of fun, you get to rate and comment on a list of pop songs provided by Freaky Trigger. The results will be calculated later in December, and the comments will be edited together for all to see. C'mon, Barbelith - represent.

Um.. I don't know any of those songs..

Except for the Nirvana one, which I think is sum-up-able as "dingy In Utero B-side which is dead honest and angsty but which I don't really want to hear on the radio every half an hour. Would have loved it if I was about 15."

I bet you'd love that LCD Soundsystem song, Riz. It's twitchy electro with a guy who sounds like early 80s David Byrne singing about obscure records, it's a parody of obsessive record collectors. It's a real gem.

Every time I see "THE VINES - Get Free" written down anywhere I tend to shout the chorus loudly. This doesn't mean it's a good song, I just really like that chorus. It's not a bad list, and I shall definitely be entering - can probably pass comment on about 2/3 of it now, so shall seek out other tracks as well.

Only trouble: it's very polar. Several 10s and 0s for me, already... a few inbetween, but nothing 5-6y at all. Is this because I'm too passionate in my tastes? I'm not normally...

You don't have to rate/comment on all of them, just the ones you know. You must comment on a decent chunk of them, though, or you might be disqualified.
