I saw that Paul Reubins was involved in a similar bust, and they waited until the last possible day to file charges for some reason.

Stories like this made me horridly sad, not just for the children involved, but for the people who get busted. They KNOW that such a thing will destroy their lives and still they do it. It has to be a compulsion so strong that they can't control it.

It also makes all of their past work suspect...I am cringing as I think of all the new Pee Wee Herman jokes I'll be subjected to now.

Can I recommend Louise Armstrong's book, Rocking the Cradle of Sexual Politics? It's more about intrafamilial abuse but it does offer a strong historical-political, rather than therapeutic, analysis and it goes some way to explaining the entitlement and cultural permission that a lot of abusers feel they have to exploit children's bodies.
