anyone know anything about

I found 'em by doing a search for Roman "empire never ended" and found a nice article on the political gnosticism of Philip K. Dick

There's an interesting
interview with the editor here.

QUESTION: Who are your readers? Do you have any profile?

NEW DAWN: People read the magazine for one simple reason: New Dawn presents news, commentary and reporting that cannot be found anywhere else.
Our readers are very independent people who tend to be quite wary of big government, big media, and the transnational conglomerates shaping life in the 1990s. They see through the illusory 'left-wing - right-wing' circus. They want something more... Something that transcends the 'modern' values, concepts and relationships that are totally incompatible with nature, as well as with their own inner aspirations, capacities and identity.

We've got non-conformist, renegade Christians, Muslims, and New Agers. A good percentage of readers are seriously interested in metaphysics, and many would believe, like Camille Paglia, that God is humanity's most important invention. As expected, New Dawn readers are hyper-skeptical of the mainline media and prefer to buy their reading matter at obscure bookshops. There's a high level of interest in all things alternative, particularly related to health, new science and religion. New Dawn readers don't feel themselves 'victims,' just people out to handle the problems of this life, with their sights set on something higher. They represent the disparate voice of the global opposition to the much-vaunted New World (dis)Order. The embryonic decentralised people's resistance to the modern world.

QUESTION: Would I be correct to suggest that NEW DAWN plays a sought of antagonistic role in the dialectic of media opinion? In other words, is its role primarily to make people think twice or more critically about the 'news' they receive? Or are you presenting news you believe to be accurate? Or, alternatively, is it meant to inspire some action? If so, what action would you like to inspire?

NEW DAWN: New Dawn aims to present news and views ignored or deliberately suppressed by the Establishment media. The motivation is to present the 'alternative' in such a way that it makes people think and in turn inspires action. Ideas without action are supremely meaningless. Let's look at some concrete examples of this.
Back in 1991, just weeks after the United States and Britain started blaming Libya for the downing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, New Dawn published a detailed report showing that Libya was indeed innocent of the Western charges. We were actually warning that this was a huge set-up and that the real guilty party was let off the hook. Four years down the track we now have a major documentary film maker, Allen Francovich, saying the same thing in the Maltese Double Cross and quite a few books such as Lester Coleman's Trail of the Octopus and David Yallop's To The Ends of The Earth confirming New Dawn's original claims of Libyan innocence. So people begin to think, ok if we've been lied to about this incident, just how much more are we not being told?

They seem like good clean fun.
