Web comics

There probably isn't enough interest to devote a whole thread to this, so I'm going to open this up into a general thread for any and all discussion of web comics.

First bit of news is last weeks announcement by Fred "Piro" Gallagher, over at MegaTokyo that he had been fired from his day job. He's decided to take the sudden change as a chance to go through with his dream of being a full time manga-ka (person who creates manga). He's already got a deal with I.C. Entertainment to collect hardcopy collections of the MegaTokyo strips, and announced yesterday that he'll also be doing a reguliar comic version of his story Warmth (which he was working on before MT got started and has since been in backburner territory).

So far, the change has meant that MT has been ontime since his firing which is nice (For the last several months, Piro's been late and behind scheadule on comics for various reasons) And hopefully he can pull it all off.

For those not familiar with MT, it's a fun strip. Started off as a manga/gamer strip of the normal variety. It's since morphed into a full blown manga story that just kind of meanders on. Some parts are a bit drawn out, but on the whole it's a fun story.

Interesting stuff. Also check out this strip. It does have its moments....

Interestingly enough, the "sad girls in snow" thing in this banner:

from that site. Is a MT reference. Started by the Mac Hall boys with this guest strip. It's since become a running gag/in joke.

Wonder if they know about this, and if so, what their feelings are.

(for those who acctually have lives. Apparently, quite a few web comic creators do not like Keenspot, who run Keenspace, who are apparently running this banner, never bothered to listen to the arguement though, so I'm not sure why. I'm also not sure of how the Mac Hall guys or the MT camp feel about Keenspot)
