Has anybody seen La Nuite Americaine by Francois Truffaut. I haven't seen it yest but I'm going to study it for a wee bit. My main problem is tracking down a copy for home use. It doesn't seem to be widely available (anybody know any good sites for this kind of thing?) so I will have to depend on the uni library.

Are there any experts of Truffaut on Barbelith? Anyone want to give me a brief resume or point me towards any books or sites? I have seen Les 400 Coups, but that was years ago and I wasn't particularly grabbed by it...

I saw it years ago, but can't give you any really good stuff. Don't remember enough of it.

The IMDB is pretty good about telling you when things are in print, with that little box at the top right-hand corner of the screen. Beyond that, eBay is probably your best bet, though in the UK (or wherever you are) there's probably an online dealer or two that specialize in OOP films. (Sorry, that's out of print.) But it might not be cheap.

A good place to start for Truffaut info is actually Hitchcock/Truffaut, which is the transcription of a series of discussions between the two men. It's a widely available book, and the uni library will have it, I'm sure. Sadly, I'm not of much more use on Mr T.
