Inspired by the delights of talking about cheese, what's tickling your tastebuds atm?

Inspired also by my discovery of organic satay-soaked tofu strips in a health food shop in town, de-lish, and really simple. Arriving home rather drunk, adding sesame oil and cashews, frying the strips and plonking the whole lot on a bed of lettuce, sprinkling the whole lot with chopped spring onions.... in about 5 minutes, about the most delicious post-pub meal in the world...

My sister recently came back from Sardinia and brought me a jar of big juicy oyster mushrooms in olive oil. Yummm. On toast, all slippery and delicious.

Plain soya yoghurt with strawberries or pineapples. That's pretty much the only thing I even like right now. That and hazelnut or almond milk, which counts as food as far as I am concerned...

Kheema!

Learned how to make this the other day. Unfortunately, chose to make two pounds of it. Have been eating every vegetable under the sun stuffed with Kheema all week now...

Just sushi generally. I love sushi - it doesn't have to be complicated, a maki roll is fine, but it's gotta be sushi. Give it now, young cock!

I always thought carrot juice was a stupid idea. But it's not. No, no no.

It's a bit pricey, though, so I tried cutting it with orange juice this morning--2 parts OJ to 1 part carrot, or so. Not bad.

Carrot and orange juice is fab. It seems to be easier to buy than pure carrot juice, for some reason.

Never drink turnip juice though. It smells worse than it looks, and it tastes worse than it smells. It must be fucking good for you.

It was discussed elsewhere on here (a tofu thread? the Random Q&A thread?) but for Mazarine, I looked up a recipe for Yangnyum Tofu. Then tried it at home. Then did it again.

I love that stuff.
rice vinegar, light soy sauce, green onions, chili sauce & garlic. A splash of water. Very firm tofu. Go. Eat. Is good.

I'm really enjoying fruit loaf. Two slices with a drink before bed. Like a granny, or something. Delicious.

Do you mean malt loaf? Delicious w/ tea and loads of butter.

Wild rocket for me, please. It's like catnip, I go pretty beserk over it.

But after a night's drinking, forget the fancy stuff, or even chips - you can't beat a can of spinach.

Oddly enough, when I got in from the pub last night I ate a can of green beans. Tinned green beans?? I don't even know how they got in my cupboard. But they tasted very good at the time.

I decided I wanted to become a cycle courier when I saw one flop off his bike onto a bench and eat an entire malt loaf out of the packet like other people would eat a mars bar. And I just thought, wow, imagine burning that much energy.

The Chinese round the corner from my house does this mental tofu&black bean sauce thing... get it with spicy thread noodles and it rocks.

Wow. now i'm slavering. That tofu recipe sounds delicious, grant, going to try that.

Not a newie, but really well cooked dahl. Gallons of garlic, cumin, fresh coriander, tomatoes, fennel.... finish it off with poppy/fennel/garlic heated to sizzling point in hot oil and poured on top.

That's dinner sorted.

I have started eating those bland little oyster crackers...

I know they have no taste at all, but they are crunchy and they "feel" good while eating. Like popcorn without having all the butter and salt.

I'm with Runce, anything sushi. Just had me all you can eat sushi tonight. Though I am going to have to try that tofu recipe. Hmm... And I still haven't gotten round to trying Nasi goreng, in honor of KM of course.
