Words handed to me by a young mystic which my be of service.

"In the event that you should have a child born on a day ending in Y, good purpose will come from giving unto it the name of Ordinance Survey"

Evidently this is to indicate that you should drop the sprog overseas.

Or you could just open the dictionary at random and choose whatever you see.. I used to do that when naming characters for comic strips and got all kinds of cool people like "Constable Comet" and "Liquid-Mason"..

or, um, actually maybe not..

Always the chance of calling it pantograph and that only becomes fun at the age of 35.

Actually, scratch everything I've said so far.

Plinth.

That's what God told me the kid should be called.

Preferably with an accent somewhere.

Judas or Salome. Nice enough names, just got some bad press. A bright kid ought to be able to shine 'em up again.

Perhaps you might find this site useful, Rex.

I'm tryng hard to sell these girl names to my wife (bearing in mind that they came out of ACTUAL BABY NAME BOOKS):
Remarkable
Infinity

(One's a Puritan name, the other a kind of modern takeoff on the Puritan "virtue" naming tradition.)

On the other hand, there are always the orisha:
Eleggua or Shango
for a boy
Oshun or Yemaya
for a girl.

Tuna Ghost: Pratt knot hero
17:31 / 22.10.02
Cornelius would be fun...or Gideon

Both are fine names, literary anti-heros aside. I would be very interested in the name Gideon for whatever children I may have, but it means "Chosen by God". Who needs that kind of pressure?

Thanks! You really brightened my day...

Mazarine

Hector's a pretty good name, if the surname will allow it.

The Tower Always Falls

I did the random-word-in-the-dictionary thing. Know what I got?

Dichotomy

That's pretty fucking brilliant actually. FUCK THE PURITANS!

Others...

Pilot
Ozzymandius (Ozzy or Oz for short of course...)
Aggamemnon (Aggy for short of course)
Pi (not the number- although that's cool too, but the I-Ching hexagram. The eigth one. It means "Union" and is pronounced "bee")
And I may be in a minority, but I alway thought "Merlot" would be a great name for any sex.

"Medoc" would be classier-- and with a hint of raisin and toffee.

Would you believe I hit her up with that name before I posted this thread?

I think it's a HYPE name...

Hey, HYPE is a good name...HYPE PI!LOL

(BTW I named my girlfriend as well...RED CITIZEN...)

Thanks for all the names thus far...

Welcome, to the new addition to the Family.

Give my best to Red please, she deserves it.

*Big goddamn kiss and hug*

You know, I will love you all forever. Can't wait till Lightbringer and Will meet.

GAWD, I love you all so much!

Please, tell me you're going to call him...

Lol...

I love you guys.

Billy jack...that is so cool. I do have my reluctance to call him Bill. A bill is a debt or a form of currency (or a president who likes felatio...) where as William is Will or I am Will. Not fond of it,but, the name came to me in a dream after I asked him what his name was. (I had Red Cityzen ask him if he liked ot...in response,he peed all over her... She told him "That's it! You're stuck with Willy!")

I never thought THIS would be such a joy. I won't get sappy...let's just say for the first time, I respect life and sacrifice...I have a new respect for women and realize how easy it is to be a man...

...and for the first time ever...

...Rex is happy.
