Looks like the eye of a needle. Is it?

I have never figured out which should go where: This rune as the 24 th or Daggaz (Time) with its "24 hours/24th position."

I did some research once to answer that question. Freya Aswynn says to end with Dagaz (which makes alot of sense), everyone else seems to say Othilla, including historical records of the Futhark. So, take as you will.

Ancestral Property is the key word. I always think of OTHALA as a picture of a little house on stilts. Whilst FEHU is your 'movable wealth', OTHALA is your 'inherited wealth'. It's what you have inherited from your ancestors, so in material terms it could be a house or land that your parents have left you.

In more abstract terms it could be the genetic traits and talents that you've inherited from your ancestors, the guitar playing skills that you share with your great great grandfather who was a musician in the 20's, the mean left hook you've inherited from some long forgotten relative who was a notorius prize fighter.

You could also conceivably expand it to include the 'wealth' that you've received from your non-direct ancestors - those artists, writers and musicians whose work has inspired you and shaped your consciousness.

Upon ingestion I see what appears to be an Iran Age homestead, with earth ramparts and a large building resting atop a further mound. Light can be seen from inside and smoke rises from its roofr. The sorrounding landscape is flat with sparse trees and vegetation, with a body of water, possibly a river delta in the distance. I see teh rune again and it reminds me of an asian stilt hut, as though elevation determines security.

Family can be defined by those in who occupy and share the home.
Security is derived from the combine efforts of the family to define and protect their land and settlement from the forces of nature and man.

The rune shape is capped if one compares it to the previous rune Inguz (full version). The DNA is capped, the genetics set/defined, by a bloodline. Blood of the family, of the livestock, of the land. Tied.

I have found myself organising and grouping people for projects, uniting them under my leadership to achieve a goal. I found this activity facilitated by Othila. Unification through a shared task.

I find my home within my DNA that I share with my family/tribe/nation/humanity

Rune of the Month places this one next-to-last, and says it's the symbol for home... but also for "immovable property."
In some European cultures, Othila was dropped from the alphabet, and Uruz did double duty -- not just "u" subbing for "o", but the idea of movable property, the wealth, the cattle who grazed the grounds of your land filling in for the land itself.
I have no idea if this substitution corresponds with nomadic tribes vs. homesteaders, but it seems like it might.

Heck, I just realized Uruz was the (destructive) *wild* cattle, not the owned cattle.

Those were Fehu.

Forget that theory, then.
