Depression-esque suits. What a good idea I might get me one of them. Trousers a little bit too short, seamed tights just showing. Pair of spike heels with laces. A big straw hat with a red silk bow. Hmmm....

Yes, that's the one, it's blue-and-white material which I suppose is probably closest to tapestry but which I always think is basically upholstery fabric... but it is absurdly long. I was wearing four inch heels that day and still spent half the time treading on the hem.

You have a good one as well though, Janina...

You know I have the same conversation about combats/cargo pants and their pockets with my mother. Surely pockets are there to be used, neh?
Usually its cargo pants with bulging pockets, some kind of t-shirt and now its winter a jumper, dark in coloration. And not forgetting the trusty Doc Martens.
But as for clothes that make me think I can invade Poland I'd have to go with large brown robes with big sleves and a volumious hood, preferably with a big stick for beating up goblins with. Always comfy robes are and they look really cool when you're walking and theres a slight breeze.
But failing that suits are cool, make just about anyone look swish, even me

Wow. May I suggest a large silk handkerchief?

There are two outfits I fall back upon currently whenever I wish to appear quite tha sexy muthafucka:

* A long-sleeved "chainmail" shirt, topped by a half-open button-down short-sleeved shirt with a DIFFERENT chainmail pattern and a holographic surface (I swear I am not making this up), white jeans, trainers, and a pearl white ladies vinyl overcoat. Depending on the weather and time of day I might top this outfit with a white bandana, a white & black "Mojave hat," and/or my silver mirrored goggles.

* A long-sleeved light-brown shirt with a large print of a flower across the front, the entire back is deep blue velvet, one arm is brown and the other is blue, topped by a brown leather blazer, black vinyl pants and black belted boots. I was temped to add a brown and black fedora to this outfit, but as my hair is brown anyway it seemed a bit redundant, especially as that fedora is utterly ragged now.

I am SO not a clothes person.

But few favourites: big fuckoff dark blue wool overcoat; I wish it was black, but it makes me happy anyhow. Couple with my normal wear underneath to confuse people; I remember schoolfriends saying "overcoat and t-shirt? What the fuck are you on?" Fools. Also, random chain bracelet on right hand - it balances the right against the watch-wearing left, and feels peculiarly me (finally replaced the old chain that died). Happiest in long-sleeve, as opposed to short-sleeve, Ts. Colours for anything: drab. Olive, gray, green, black, blue. They don't clash with my hair. Trousers: the baggier and the more pockets, generally the better, though as long as they're semi-baggy they'll do. I must admit, I do love my new pair of jeans more than is right. For shoes, I'm pretty much stuck on the two pairs of Vans Prones that I have; they fit, they're comfortable, sod the rest. And finally: suits. Suits rock most of all, though I only have odd chances to wear them. Lovely dark one that feels pretty much "right", and then, the greatest suit of all time; my Christian Dior dress suit, which I love with a passion, not least because I got it for free. The jacket is the most perfectly-fitting garment I've ever worn.

I need more clothes I'm happy with, though. Too many old ones kicking around.

Oh, and though I haven't seen K-CC's big carpet coat, Janina's is just wonderful. Jesus. For a straight guy that hates them, I appear to be talking far too much about clothes.

hey, you don't have to be queer to post here, but it helps....

or seriously, just embrace your inner clotheshorse, Paleface, there's nothing inherently less worthy about it than, for example, arguing about Pirates and Ninjas....

Erm... currently it's my skinny little horrible green tee, inside out and back-to-front with "SMELL?" painted on it a different, yet equally horrible green (you know the episode of Invader Zim where Dib discovers Zim is allergic to water? Yeh? Oh, you don't... Well I got it from there all the same!), my dumbly pretentios twisted and distressed Levi jeans and my scruffy red Converse.

Oh, and my hair is waxed up into six clumps, and held there by some tacky plastic hearts I got free with the Powerpuff Girls magazine. This is mostly to draw attention away from my very red nose (you know how when people here have seen it, it's been, like... Whoa! Red! in a manner befitting a teenage McCarthyite? Well now it's REALLY red. For real.).

I really need to sort my hair out...
