NYC and the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant

Basically when flight 587 crashed in Rockaway Beach for whatever reason us New Yorkers had a chance to witness what the local government would do with the city. All the roads out or into the city were shut down and nobody could get in or out.

Now, in the case of a terrorist arrack or an accident at the Indian Point nuclear power plant, a toxic cloud would spread over NYC... and nobody would be able to get in or out because all the roads would be closed off.

Just a thought.

Lionheart, I am fairly sure that an attack on Indian Point would quite possibly render and all attempts to evacuate any part of New York City, Westchester, and surrounding parts of Connecticut and New Jersey futile and pointless...

lets give the "terrorists" good ideas and see where that gets us.

Actually, no. If the Indian Point Power plant explodes then the people nearby, within a radius of a few miles, will be totally wiped out. And then, after a few hours a toxic radioactive cloud will sweep over NYC. I plan to leave the city in those few hours or maybe become Radioactive Man.

You and everyone else. Good luck.

I'm curious how you plan on making it out...

Cause the survivors would be the lucky ones, right? If something happens at Indian Point or a similar location in the United States, you can be pretty certain the US would launch a goodish-sized nuclear strike wherever it felt like, and then so would China, and Russia, etc.

Read somewhere that they moved the doomsday clock one minute closer to '12' (it's at like 11:54 or something now). I thought the doomsday clock was something that Alan Moore made up for 'watchmen'...
