These clowns have not came close to the Old Doom Patrol, and like a snail on downers stuck in molasses, it's picking up speed. A cheap-thrills swing through the land of the Old Doom Patrol? These guys are grasping for the lifeline, I think...

Yyyyeah. I held onto hope for a little while there, but this book really is pretty damned abysmal. The new team licks a cat's ass. They've managed to make Cliff uninteresting. They brought back Dorothy and did nothing w/her. And they killed off Coagula! Although I seem to be the only fan of Rachel Pollack's run in the whole world, so the latter probably doesn't affect anyone but me. Still, though... What was the point of calling this book Doom Patrol when the only resemblance it has to the old book is a boring version of Robotman?

I only say this because I don't moderate this forum:

Can someone PLEASE go in and make sure that all the "DP"s in the first post, especially in the title and abstract are changed to "Doom Patrol"?

When you're referring to the "old Doom Patrol," do you mean the original run from the 60s or the more recent run? It seems Sharkgrin might be talking about the 60s one, and Deric the other. Though I could be wrong.

So far as making changes go, Morrison made his own alterations to the Doom Patrol's roster and rogues gallery. If you're complaining that the current changes are bad, that's one thing, and deserve a little more elaboration. But to complain about changes in general, well, I think every creative team that has touched Doom Patrol have taken a crack at mixing it up, some to better effect than others. I prefer the 60s run to the Morrison run, but you don't see me complaining. What's the problem?

So was it Dorothy living in that flat that Cliff was doing shitty jobs to pay for? I'm so glad I dropped this after issue 1, while I can't pretend to be an old old fan of the Patrol it seemed to be a complete antithesis to what Grant said was the point of the book in the Crawling in the Wreckage TPB.
