Seeing the diverse and vibrant tastes on this board, how would people feel about some kind of book exchange?
It would give us a chance to see where others are coming from and where they are going, possibly even a breeding ground for ideas. I havent considered the logistics of such an entity, but I was jsut curious what your thoughts on it would be.

Sounds fun, but how d'you mean, exactly? We each come up with an idea for a book, and the strangers-on-a-train them around? We do a Yeats Is Dead!-style consequences type thing?

Give us more. More!

I s'pect #48 means we list books we're trying to get rid of and if anyway wants one they call dibs. Obviously whoever posts a booklist should say where in the world they find themselves so the receiving end can decided whether they want to pay postage for that distance. For my end I have a postal scale at my disposal, but aside from trying to be precise that wouldn't necessarily be true for international packages.

I'll post a list soon.

I particapted in kind of book chain letter thought of thing a few years ago - y'know send out a copy letter to six of your friends encouraging them to send out another 6 copies of the letter and a book to the first person on thel list. I only got one book back but that was still cool. I think perhaps PMing some addresses about and sending each other books at random might be fun.....

Dibs list I like. However I would not want to enice anyone with such misguided Xmas presents as "FIGHTING SKILLS OF THE SAS" or "PAUL DANIEL'S MAGIC BOOK". So, if we were to devise a list of books we respected, but no longer felt a need for, then perhaps leeway can be made.
I should be able to put my own list up tomorrow, so who's with me?

Recently have found in hardcover a number of books worth reading, some light, some not, that I had in paperback and would not mind mailing, even across distances. I have a great excess of reading material but would very much like to impose the condition that the recipient send a book on to a third party.

The question remains, does anybody want to read what I want to mail out?

We'll never know until you list them.
