Got a question for the people. Recently I've been off doing other things, and have been neglecting my duties here. I thought about how I could change this, and one idea was to post more about the kind of things I've been coming across recently. Though, I'm not sure if there's really any interest. So, I'm posting this.
Basically, I'm a tech geek at heart. And considering that, I've got a pretty cool job. The office I work for has two functions, serivces, who work with clients on various tasks, and tech forecast, who litterally research emerging technologies and try to find new emerging paradigms. While I'm not apart of the tech forecast division, I do keep an eye on things that are coming down the pike, and do get into various discussions with coworkers about where things are going.
What I'm wondering is if people would dig more tech oriented threads that are along the lines of the discussions I've been having at work. This pretty much runs the course from who's going to win the gaming wars (I've got renewed faith in Nintendo recently, though I'm still leaning towards Sony) to things like the Smart Mobs thread and the previous thread on public wireless networks. Or more specific subjects like the state of nano technology and how convergence is coming along (the pc as DVD player, sterio, general home entertainment system). I've also been the audience to several lectures from my boss (who should be working in a think tank) on machine to machine communications and how computers can be involved in the transition of data into information into understanding into knowledge into wisodm. (formely computers turned data into information, recently they started turning information into knowledge) Should I be posting about this stuff? Or do people not really care? |
