I liked those threads where we used to talk about one song for ages.
So I pick this'n. I love this record, although I probably shouldn't. It's got that lovely little Just Blaze production trick with the sped up voices (y'know, like on 'Oh Boy' or most of 'The Blueprint') going "I get high, high, high hiiiiiiiigh" on the hook. But it's produced by Swizz Beats, so they're just straight up biting it. Styles is not exactly the most creative MC on the block, either, but it just works.
I particularly love the bit when he goes "I get high cos fuck it, what's better to do, And I'ma never give a fuck cos I'm better than you". Yes! I think this may be the most honest drug song ever. Fuck all that over-intellectualised heroin bullshit, this is the basic truth. We take drugs cos we're arrogant enough to think that other people's rules don't apply to us, we don't have to be straight, we can be high all the time. What's better to do?
Anyway, I'm sure someone out there must either hate this or love it.
